Yeah, I like Weegar a lot. I think those who made the comparison to Brodie earlier this season are absolutely on-point.

Weegar is a very good defenceman, and he's at a decent age and signed to a fair long-term contract. I'd be pretty bummed to see him traded.

Yeah, we'll see. Like a guy like Gavrikov is a great fit but he's the type I'm sure the contenders are fighting over. Sabres are on the up but it's still not the time to be dishing out a first round pick for a rental.

Trading Weegar makes you worse right now, which is fine if you’re pulling the chute on the season and going into a rebuild.

Trading him for another D like Chychrun is a lateral move (same for Hanifin), so there’s no point losing whatever assets you’d need to add to make the deal”happen.

Josh Andersson thing is absolutely insane, dude is a almost 30 year old 30-40 point player making 5.5 million for 5 more years. You have to pay someone to get rid of that contract, not ask for 1st + prospects
