They are all commercialized but valentines is the worst. Bad dinner with a limited menu for twice the price and bad service. Plus half dead flowers for quadruple the normal price.

Neither Mother’s Day or Father’s Day are like that. Even Christmas isn’t like that.

Having a partner who appreciates a romantic gesture any time of year and doesn’t need to be told when romance is mandatory is the real success here. But that also relies on actually following thru. Many men need Valentine’s Day or they’d never do anything nice.

You’re right. Maybe like a 30 for 30 style instead. One and done.

Not even his strangest take this calendar year. The fellow thinks DOGS are evil incarnate. His opinions should be measured against that bar!

IDK why I don't get off on watching 19 - 27-year-old men play a game, but I just don't. Can't think of a more boring way to spend three hours. Like, you've seen one game you've seen them all. I'd rather do something than watch other people do something.

Haha yup

Here honey, some lavishly expensive jewelry to help gloss over the last year of failing as a romantic partner

Firstly, doesn't work. Secondly, chances are it just intensifies bitterness if the relationship is already spiraling

It actually makes the advertisements that are targeting these men more repulsive tbh

The really thoughtful gifts rarely have that kind of price tag. In fact the best gifts are usually an experience that you can share & remember

And if your partner actually expects that, then it's probably not a great connection to begin with

It's also a bad idea because then it sets the bar enormously high for following years because your SO will recall the lengths you went in x year but maybe can't in the future because of circumstances then

..so just don't. Keep it simple and straight from the inaccurately represented vital organ

Hahaha, that's quite a take. It's literally the exact opposite of sports, but whatever floats your boat.

Guy wacks a puck while a clump of guys also try to wack the puck. Bunch of guys yell at guy in striped shirt because he thought the one guy transgressed against the other guy but we all disagree because we were born in the city where the first guy now plays even though he was raised in Minnesota. Rinse repeat.

The popcorn is good at the Dome, though, and I am going to be at tomorrow's game just to check off some good-father boxes for my kids. I'll be the dude with a frown looking around annoyed when everyone starts yelling too loud...like, mellow the fata out, guys. Best part of the game is sneaking out 15 minutes early to beat traffic.

That's my take, anyway.

I’ll watch hockey and that’s absolutely it. I find pretty much every other sport unbearably boring. Even then there no way I watch every minute of a regular season game. Unless taking it in live of course, I love that. But on TV? Forget it. If hockey isn’t on then maybe the x-games or something but not another major sport.

Does your opinion change when it comes to international sports?

For me, from a personal standpoint, sports and participation in sports is so awesome. You create special bonds with your teammates and have amazing lifetime memories from some of those things. From a fan perspective, you can't beat the drama and anticipation of the team you support playing in the big game with a chance to be the champions, or even just a game against a fierce rival. It's enthralling!

I only like figure skating because of the potential for wardrobe malfunctions. I always watch that and I agree it's enthralling. Not even kidding.

I did hit the red mile for the cup run back in '03? '04? '05? Can't remember what year it was, but that was super fun and I totally got into it. Again, though, there was the naked breast thing, which was pretty cool. But it was also fun just hanging out with my friends being part of an excited mob.

I was at a Flames game a few weeks ago and did notice those chicks that skate out and sweep the snow or whatever were not as scantily clad as the last game I was at (maybe pre-Covid?).

I'm sounding like a bit of a perv here, but I'm really just thinking about this in real time and, I suppose, discovering something about myself.

But for, like, the Olympics and stuff? Yeah, I don't really get into it. I like the snowboarding and will watch highlights, but that's really it. I just don't give a fata although it does seem as though I'm missing out on something that you guys are tapping into. I just don't think it's a switch you can opt to turn on. You have it or you don't.

Your fond memories of team sports reminds me of my fond memories of snowboarding with my friends. Luckily, we still go and have grown our group of riders as the kids have grown up. There will be 15 of us on a ski trip this weekend and I can't wait.

It’s some sort of humiliation kink and attention seeking behaviour. Seems we’re watching Pete open up about his personal life in real time. Good for him I say.

It’s a reality tv spin-off of Sliver’s show, called, “Pimp my Pasta”

Okay, but using that logic why do you watch hockey when I could just text you some pics of pucks inside a net? Takes away a bit of the magic, no? I think it's the anticipation of the puck on the net - or, in my case, the chance of a nipple slip - that makes it exciting.
