How so? I mean, my comment about an adult wearing their pajamas and carrying a blankey on the plane isn’t plane-specific, it’s a comment about what someone wears in public in general. I haven’t actually offered any plane-specific opinions, and I was really only curious about your refusal to wear jeans and criticism of people who wear jeans “in modern society.” But I don’t know, maybe you hate buttons, maybe it’s another one of your autism things (which is cool if so, no judgement) so I was just curious.

That’s cool. Not everyone has to resort to wearing the most comfortable thing they own to sit in a seat for a couple hours, especially when you’re out walking around before and after. Most people are capable of just wearing the same clothes they like wearing the rest of the time.

Unfortunately after pursuing the people of Walmart thread I think I found your picture. The jeans that make everyone look good and feel good check out

You've been around long enough to know that PespiFree will always have strong opinions about things he essentially doesn't care about. It's a good way to be.

I've used a side fanny pack I could hide under my shirt for years, even before they came back in style. They're awesome for traveling.
They're also great for putting your passport and boarding pass into because a passport in a pants pocket (non cargo shorts/pants lower pocket or back pocket) is really awkward.
They are especially useful when corralling children through security at an airport.

I wear well-fitted athletic gear on planes if I'm not traveling for work. Then it's business casual.
I have an ultra modern carry on roller board and pack that goes with it.
I'm the most efficient traveler I know.

Then you don't know the type of people who obsess over this stuff... If your bag has wheels on it you're giving up space and weight.
I fly personal item only quite a bit for weekend trips so especially since I started flying again post-COVID I've tried to figure out some efficient bag setups. The two main tricks are to get a bag that's slightly over the allowed dimensions but doesn't look like it is, and use compression packing cubes rather than having a pack with a bunch of internal organization and separate compartments.

Compression packing cubes? Pfft. So fancy. Easiest is resealable snack bags and freezer bags yo. Especially cables. Pain in the ass to try and grab a charging cable and it's snagged under something below. XL sized freezer bag and a highly compressible jacket or vest... same idea. Sleeve under a tablet or something dumb like that. The bags take up very little space, freezer bags are more durable than sandwich/snack. And I have extra freezer bags (L or XL) that are good for collecting garbage, pulling out to use if you feel like throwing up, giving to others to compartmentalize or "water proof" something (ie: passports in a cloth bag when raining) etc.
I also always bring a whole sleeve or two of arrow root cookies. Compact and dense as food. If you don't have time to grab food or the food is too expensive, a single sleeve of arrow root cookies can help to defer hunger for 2-3 adults for about 5-6 hours. My wife thought it was dumb, but listened one time. It was the only thing she and her manager had to eat for an entire day (6AM-6PM) because they flew out of Calgary to a conference / ran a presentation booth and there was an inexplicable unavailability of food at the conference location.

No, I've made that determination based on the fact that I used to wear a lot of motorcycle denim that was pretty rigid but durable, and now I wear soft, comfy posh denim. I have a basis for comparison, and it's what I enjoy wearing. They are comfy, in both fit and feel. "Denim" is a pretty wide net; there's thick, durable denim, and there's soft, stretchy, plush denim, and everything in between.
Plus, ew, I don't want to wear yoga pants or sweats; what, am I going to a formal event in Edmonton or something?

The trouser looking joggers from Lululemon are great. Jogger comfort/stretch but doesn't look too casual like sweats and yoga pants. Do these still count as sweats or yoga pants?
BTW, I agree with the soft stretchy denim comment. There's a huge difference between a Levis 501 and 541 and that's not even how wide the differences for denim can go.
#### paper thin denim though. In my youth, I used to shred those $20-30 Winners reject jeans like like they were supposed to come apart in a few months like tearaways. Knee rip, ass rip, hip rip, finger through pocket seam, belt loops rip off...
I wore Lulus for years because they were durable and comfy and the well loved and recommended Levi's 501 was nothing short of a ball crusher when I put them on. Then I discovered the Levi's 541.... $30-60 bucks a pair and they last me 8-10 years with heavy use without crushing my balls. Fantastic.

You need to understand that there are levels to this.
In seriousness, the compression packing cubes are for clothes, not electronics or cords. I have a specific backpack for carrying a bunch of tech stuff if I don't need to bring a bunch of clothes wherever I'm going. But usually for trips longer than a day or two, the only cords I'm taking are chargers and for that I use the Anker Nano in a small carrying pouch. Everything is USB-C anyway so it's all interchangeable.

Why not just eat before you leave and if it's a long trip bring such food as you think you might want? This seems excessive, but whatever works for you I guess.

I usually wear jeans on the plane. I'm going to want a pair of jeans on almost any trip I'm taking and it's easier to wear them than to try to fit them in a small bag since most jeans don't pack down very well.

I believe you and I'm happy for you that you have such a skill.
Out of everyone I've ever known, I'm the best at efficiently packing as much into a dishwasher while ensuring everything gets clean and I minimize the opportunity for water to collect in pot handles and such. I may take a video one day. I think you guys would be impressed.

I doubt there'll ever be the opportunity to dual, but I'd give you a run for your money. My kids have to go through a dishwasher loading course with periodic refreshers. The course motto is "Be the Water".

Oh geez, I forgot about the elastic sorter things. I haven't tinkered with that since my audiophile stage.
For the food thing, because sometimes you're always traveling or the food sucked or wasn't enough or not available and you needed a top up.
You eat at 8AM, hop on a 6 hour flight and land. Flight inexplicably doesn't offer food or runs out. Also it's 3 hour time zone difference and it's 7PM there and the restaurant closed at 6PM. You wait an hour for luggage, spend another hour getting to and getting into the rental car, 20-30 minutes to your location, 20-30 minutes to check in, 20-30 minutes to unload and then... you have time to research where to go out to eat, then wait 5-30 minutes to order and get food.
Or I bring a sleeve of cookies and eat a few in between somewhere up there rather than go 8-10 hours between meals. That's the logic.
I once was on a flight and we got delayed on the runway for like 2.5 hours. No drink service, no food. Another 3-4 hour flight to go. I had food.
I also wrote one of those ill fated exams where the delay was 2-3 hours to start the exam and you weren't allowed out of the room. My friends and I huddle around those sleeves like Gollum eating fish. It would have been a life line for those taking stupid exams where the delay was like 5-8 hours long.

I like to think we'd end our dual with mutual respect at having found a fellow dishwasher-loading enthusiast.

To be honest, loading efficiency isn't hard once you have sound logic. The issues I run with with are people who should be smart, but are doing really dumb things. I want to strangle them when I see the outcomes of some of their dishwasher loads.
Yes, I have a little bit of OCPD, but I don't think it's unreasonable at all to aim for a 95% clean dishes out of the dishwasher standard (via loading). Instead, I get like 60-85% at times. Utensils with scrambled egg "polymers" on it. Garden salad leaf pressings on utensils and dishware. Oil, oil, oil because someone loaded some #### that went through the rack and blocked the spinner from spinning for the entire wash.
And this isn't just a millennial thing. I deal with boomers who knew how to load dishwashers, decided one day to load #### haphazardly and now claim "expensive" dishwashers (entry level) suck at washing dishes and it's a rip off to have to buy more expensive dishwashers to get that #### off when they haphazardly load it.
