They're what, 3-11?
You can bleed a few extra points, but not this many
Edit: I guess SOs factor into the 11 losses
|
When you’re 3-11 you probably can’t call it luck anymore. Nobody on this team is capable of a gamebreaking play when it matters.

The CP meltdown is more entertaining than the Flames on the ice.
You know your team is bad when....

Colorado is not without its faults this season. They’re clearly not the same team this year and Edmonton is far from some juggernaut.
Whether or not the Flames get in is a different story but if they do, they won’t embarrass themselves.
|
Walked can also be defied as losing the series rather quickly, doesn't have to mean getting embarrassed every game.
I'd give the flames about a 10% chance of winning either series. The Avs have been there before and have the stars to be able to elevate in that playoff atmosphere and the Oilers have Mcdavid, who the Flames literally have no answer for.

Everything being Markstrom’s fault just doesn’t pass the smell test for me. Yes he’s been bad, I 110% admit it. But let’s see…
Flames 24th ranked power play.
Flames 16th ranked GF.
Middling FOW%.
Best scorer is ranked 52nd in the NHL, has less than half of McDavids point total.
17th expected GF
22nd shooting %
16th high danger shots for
1st place low danger shots for
5th place in giveaways to opponents
30th in shots blocked……
This is a team sport. Markstrom probably shouldn’t be starting but they are often lacking a lot of effort. How often do you see them drive to the net? How often do they own possession stats? They clearly don’t block a lot of shots. How often are there 10-bell chances in front of Markstrom?

It just feels better if you're the team coming back from down 3-1 with 3 minutes to go and lose in overtime. It feels like you grabbed a point. This one feels as bad as that feels good; like we lost one.
1-8 in OT this year, 2-9 last year. We may have a problem?

So let's play him twice as often as vladar!
We're in a playoff race, after all!

The Sens honestly had no business being in this game tonight, they were lousy. Flames thoroughly outplayed them and half the Sens roster looked hungover with how much they were bobbling the puck.
Think it was simply skill triumphing over will tonight. The Sens have gamebreakers that the Flames do not have. That was the difference.

Reading those stats it’s amazing we are even in a playoff spot.
So much for parity. The crappy teams really are crappy. And we can’t beat them when we need to.

I’ve defended Markstrom for a while, even after the Oilers series last year, but man, it’s just impossible now.
He straight up sucks right now.

I continue to like this team and their chances to both make the playoffs and perform in the playoffs. They're building lots of character through all the adversity. They continue to find a way to stay in the playoffs race even with their starting goalie and #1 forward playing significantly below expectations.

While all true, last game and 58 minutes of this game had me foolishly thinking we'd maybe started to turn a corner (including especially Markstrom).

This game will linger in minds when this team is up 2 late
It's not healthy for the team keeping him on as our #1

I don’t think anyone rational is saying it’s ALL Markstrom’s fault. The team clearly has issues, but despite all of this, if Markstrom had even league average numbers, this team is first in the division.

This team is actually pretty good at home this year when Vladar is in net
So we'll see about that
If markstrom is in, yes we will get our "#### pushed in"

Say what you want about the Flames, but the New York game was not the problem. They went all out against one of the best teams in the league. I'm proud of that game.

What an absolute garbage team. Just lose all your games till the deadline already, and put yourselves out of the misery.
