Yea it’s not like those guys have a history of decent goalies coming to Calgary and ####ting the bed.

If they get in, it’s a tight series.
I agree unless it’s the Oilers and Markstrom is in net…. That’s an easy sweep for the Oil

On a night like tonight it's like the airing of the grievances. You are right, easy to see if they get in and play like they can they would not be an easy out, at all. I still have confidence they'll make some noise this season.

At least we would know the storyline, for game one at least “Markstrom has had a tough season but the playoffs is a new season, a chance for him to put the regular season behind him”!

No surprise. The Flames honestly played a solid game overall, and to carry that over from the previous game was instilling confidence this team badly needs. This is a very tough loss that shouldn't have happened.

Hopefully they can carry over the good from the past two games to their upcoming home games. And start Vladar. I genuinely feel the team has more confidence when he's in net.

He seems like a mentally fragile goalie.

Look at how quick he starts complaining after a bad goal about something that didn't happen the slash in Tkachuk.

These are disturbing signs that are Mike Smith like.

Flames have beat all those teams this season.

Not saying they’re gonna win any series, but they wouldn’t get walked by anyone.

I’d have to agree with this sentiment, especially with the way the Flames have been playing or have shown this season when the heat is on.

Within 1 goal:

Vladar: .913 Save Percentage, 3.04 GSAA

Markstrom: .879 save percentage, -17.04 GSAA

That is why Vladar is 11-5-4 and Markstrom is 14-13-6. This team plays mostly 1 goal games...so how important are those stats. Markstrom has inflated his numbers when the game is out of reach already.

Honestly that 3-2 goal had to be deflating. Flames gave up absolutely nothing all third period.

Senators had 7 shots, and 1 HD chance up until that point of the period.

Then on a unlucky bouncing play the puck lands on a stick in the slot and he gives up just a horrible rebound for a tap in.

Then another bit of a lucky break on a puck retrieval and they make a nice passing play that Markstrom wasn't even close to reading or reacting to, and it's 3-3.

Then you dominate the over time. Have a couple good chances, hit the post.

First real shot against, and not even a solid chance, and boom it's game over.

There’s no Boston in the west

Because there are a lot of teams in the West with warts who will be battling with the Flames for a playoff spot. It's going to be tight right until the last game this season.

He did a terrible job of getting to the post. He was uncomfortable and awkward. Great shot, but it should have been saved.

As for the breakaway, he - once again - gave away way too much of the net. NHLers score about 305 of the time on a breakaway. They are scoring at about an 80% rate on Markstrom right now, because he isn't cutting off the angles well.

Just admit you were wrong and hyperbolic take the L and move on. People are hyperbolic and emotional after a loss, especially one like that, it’s fine.

You were here when they signed Markstrom and said he was never good and this was a huge mistake right?

You were here last season when they won the division and said he was never good all year right?

You were here after the Dallas series with a .943 Sv% and beating Kiprusoff for franchise record in a playoff series saying he was never good right?

It was a dumb comment. Just admit it and move on.
