Thanks for reminding me of that series

Wonder what sort of back room pressure there is to ride Markstrom? Isn’t he our 6mil number one signed under BT?

Ah well, goaltending has been pretty disappointing as a flames fan for years. At least this year it’s happening in the regular season?

Literally the third game I’ve decided to watch all year. No wonder I have zero interest in this loser team anymore and barely watch or care. I’ll jump on the bandwagon if they somehow make the playoffs, but I couldn’t be bothered with the team anymore. Same ####, different year. Wake me up if they ever decide to do something as a franchise.

I actually think this is the most likable group of players in a long, long time.

Why am I not surprised. Saying this team is fragile is an understatement. They can't hold on to leads and the certainly can't handle adversity. A 3-1 and playing the right way should be an automatic win. When the season is over we'll look back on games like this as a reason why we missed the playoffs.

Just a total choke job by a team that has consistently failed to deliver this season. A shameful meltdown and the coach is absolutely at the forefront, as well as continued pathetic goaltending by Markstrom. Walks like a duck and talks like a duck - these guys are losers.

That last one was just brutal.

I wish we had Stutzle.
He did. But you're judged on the full 60 minutes (+)

this is the problem with the apologists.. they downplay the importance of that 5 minute brain cramp that sinks the team

Embarrassing loss. Coaches, players, front office…. Time for changes. This is a bad team.

One of those games that exemplifies two things being possible at once. It's possible to have poor coverage and defensive lapses, while also not getting a critical save when you need one.

A playoff team locks in a two goal lead with a few mins left in the game. The team just doesn’t have a game breaker, it is what it is.

Proof is in the pudding. There has been enough games to show who the Flames are. A bubble team and more of a lower quality team in the league vs a contender. It is not even debatable. Yes, if they had average goaltending, they’d have more wins. However, the goalie is a part of the overall team.

Do they hit a lot of posts. Yes, but a post is not even a shot and most goalies view it as basically a save.

Marky has firmly supplanted the tile of the worst starting goalie that the Flames have had in decades, due to this season. I don’t care about how good he was last year. What have you done for me lately is the motto in professional sports.

You can't even compare the two. Markstrom's performance against the Oilers was one of the worst in NHL history. Mike Smith outplayed him and he let in a goal from 180 feet!

They were so passive when Ottawa pulled the goaltender. Lost every single puck battle leading to the two goals. Markstrom was bad but there's also no excuse for the late collapse. Something wrong with this team as it's just not working.

From top 3 goalie in the league last year to this. The Pilers absolutely catered him last playoffs.
