Apparently winter started in November and ended in December
Its -35 in Montreal and Toronto, and here I've got the air conditioning on in the car and breaking a slight sweat from the sun
It's usually the reverse .. feels goodman

I hate to bring up the topic again and on such a beautiful day but I am looking to see if any fellow CP members have heard of Arctic Bay Parkas? https://arctic-bay.ca/
I had a look at their site, the product looks great, some sales currently and the quality from afar looks good! Made in Canada, apparently in Winnipeg!
Where I am a little concerned is that in some minor email's back and forth with the company, the responses have come right away, at non normal business hours and with broken English responses. I don't want to fall into a trap of buying some knockoff or low grade item from Asia as a "Made in Canada" parka
Some research on the internet doesn't really inspire a lot of confidence either as a lack of Youtube blog reviews, Reddit Reviews or even seeing them on the street, although I am not some parka expert or pay close attention.
Anyhow, if anybody has any experience with this brand/products etc let me know! Here is the site https://arctic-bay.ca/

^^ those websites where it has a “somebody from blah blah blah purchased a parka notification pop-up every few seconds seem sketchy.

The advertising 'copy' on the website is riddled with small grammar errors and gobbledy####. It looks precisely like "some knockoff or low grade item from Asia".

The website is very drab in that regard. Like, usually you’d expect a bit more story on the background of the company and the people involved.

I want to be proactive before the next storm... What's the best way to advertise for a local kid to shovel my driveway? I refuse to get on Facebook and I can't find any community board for Legacy. Any ideas? I tried MowSnowPros App and it seemed fine, just a bit too expensive.
My lower back thanks you in advance!

Well, are there kids around you? If you went and knocked on their door, I almost guarantee you’d find someone pretty easily. Especially before the heavy wet snow is on the ground and a kid could commit before the realization of how terrible it is!

This is the way.
My parents did the same thing to some kids years and years ago to rake their leaves.
"We'll do it for $5!"

Deal. Knock yourselves out.
Hopefully a valuable life-lesson was learned about accurately quoting for jobs.
As I recall he gave them a lot more than that because it was a bitch of a job that took them all weekend.
Alls I'm saying though is that ruthlessly exploiting child-labour really is the only way to go.
Oh, they'll complain alright, but nobody listens...

So, potential for snow overnight. Environment Canada says 5-10cm, The Weather Network says ~1cm, and Accuweather has little to no accumulation.
Who you got?

There was some pellets down by Chinook this morning. And so many ice rivers covering the sidewalks.

Well Environment Canada is clearly on crack.
Defund the EC?
Accuweather seems to know what they're about.

We've only had a week of winter. This is the easiest winter I've ever experienced. I bailed on snowboarding and went hiking on Saturday FFS. It's weird.

Yeah aside from a couple brutal week long deep freezes, it's been a pretty decent winter so far. February has been a dream. But I know we aren't out of the woods just yet...
EDIT: decent unless you're a skiier/ODR user anyway. Feels like it's either been above freezing or -30, either aren't ideal for winter sports.

Yeah, other than a few ridiculous dumps of snow and a couple deep-freezes this Winter has been a breeze.

One more (hopefully) cold snap coming in a week
But only dipping to the minus-teens, nothing like Februaries of years past

Yeah agreed
I was in Toronto last week and it was pissing rain.
Easy winter seems to be a theme across much of the country
