I walk just over 2km each way to every game, and I'm a wuss in the cold.

On the arena plans that were approved for Victoria Park, there was space for indoor bike parking for 99 bikes on the ground level of the parkade.
Even if they go with a new design somewhere else (which would be idiotic), I'd expect at least that many bike parking spots in any design, plus likely outdoor bike racks.

If they're going to try to get money from the province, I hope this pushes them to get a deal done before the election because no matter who wins, that money won't be as easy to get after.

I agree...but...whatever man. Whats gonna happen is gonna happen.
What can we say? Say they get a sweetheart deal flooded with Provincial cash...it doesnt mean anything, that deal could die as easily as every other one six months down the road.

Covid denying nut jobs making the opioid crisis worth aside, and that's a big aside, if the GoA put money towards the Arena that would be a big FU to Edmonton, who didn't get any (iirc) specific funding from the province, partially because they didn't want to set a precedent. But they know they're electorally dead here so.
