Vancouver releases their statement and people on social media complain about the lack of roof. Meanwhile in Calgary...
Personally I'm happy I don't live in a city where it rains 362 days a year, but I have been grateful for the roof over the main stand at Atco. If I was the marketing manager for VFC I'd be stocking up on team-branded umbrellas!

Great turn out last night at the Ship and Anchor. Probably 75-80 people along with Tommy, Jose, Roberto, Miki and Jesse from the club. Nothing Earth shattering went on, just good to get together with people and start to get hyped for the new season.
Managed to raise over $3000 for Ruth's House as well. I got a little out of control at the auction and picked up a game worn autographed Sam Adekugbe jersey from the World Cup.

Pretty fun event! Like you say, nothing earth-shattering. I thought it was good to hear from the manager and he gave a good explanation for things. I still think that Cavalry have done the best job of having players develop and move on to bigger and better things. Some clubs have done virtually nothing in that regard and that’s one of the core foundations of the CPL.
While I still wonder if they’re going to be able to score, I still entirely trust Tommy regarding this as opposed to me and other amateurs. We have no idea what goes on in the room and behind the scenes.
The grassroots part of Cavalry FC is the best in the league. The work your group did leading up to the CPL is such an awesome story, and it's great to see the tradition continue.

I went to one away game when I was living in Edmonton and was hooked. Everyone was so nice and welcoming.
3 year deal for an international CB who has one pro game in the Scottish Championship is a bold move. Sounds like he's a big athletic CB which fills a need. Imagine he's behind Klomp and Montgomery but maybe he plays in a back 3 as well.
It's unusual to see a player without a wikipedia page.
EDIT: Not to be disparaging to the guy because he's only 21 and could be a hidden gem and I've never seen him obviously, but he last played for Kings Langley at the 7th tier of English football. Is that the level of player we should be signing. Is that the level of the CPL?

Yeah, it's interesting that Ollie Bassett (Ottawa) came directly to the CPL from the same level in England. I think Nathan Mavila was also playing at a similar when Cavalry signed him.
My very uneducated thought has been CPL is similar in level to the National League in England, similar salaries, also fairly young players with a couple older guys from higher leagues trying to get a few extra years in.
IIRC Mavila was 6th tier but was back in 7th tier before signing with Pacific this year. National League is about where I'd compare CPL to as well. Some other leagues in Europe that seem fairly similar are League of Ireland Premier Division, Scottish Championship, Veikkasauliga (Finland), Regionalliga (4th tier Germany), Ettan (3rd tier Sweden) etc.
It's tough to assume that the level of play will transfer over; Valour signed a player from Ligue 1 in 2020 and he was not good at all.
