I debated it. But settled on turning the sound off.

Are there players on the Flames that Flames fans can like without being accused of being on some separate fan club? I assume people who like when Markstrom does well are just Flames fans. It’s a lot weirder that any time he’s anything less than a game stealer people need to find a way to downplay his performance. He’s just a player on the Flames, the team we all enjoy and cheer for. Seems to be… not weird at all to cheer for a player on the team we all cheer for?

The Tampa, Seattle, Buffalo games need to be more frequent from here on out ... please string several efforts like that and make days at the rink fun again for everyone

Fair. It's the "where are the haters at" comments like a game when he closes out his first win in several games with a .800 is a flex of some kind
It's fine to root him on. I prefer results like this. But those posters don't need to parade around and mock the critics just because he finally did his job and kept a lead intact

That turned into a fun game! Where has that offence been?
I’ll remain skeptical as this team still reminds me of the Canadian Division season. Close but not quite good enough and with no clear identity.
Another convincing win in Ottawa would do a lot to get me re-engaged!

Well see how they've been playing first half of the season, their tanks should still be 3/4 full.

4th line got hemmed some. But it looked like they were matching hard against the using last change. i saw them up against Thompson a lot.

I think it’s just a response to him being absolutely trashed 99% of the time. Making an offhand comment in a PGT thread seems a lot more tolerable than the people who bump old threads with an “LOL” or whatever when a player makes a mistake.
And his save percentage was .913 today, which is very impressive for a Flames goaltender this season, thank you very much

Vezina? Maybe
Nice to see the Flames generate scoring chances like that. Thought the top 3 lines all had real good games.

Flames played terribly in front of Vladar last game. Great in front of Markstrom today. Narrative gone.

I like that young Buffalo roster. They're pretty fun to watch. Hopefully the Sabers can start making some real noise in a year or two.

I can imagine many Sabres fans had fun watching that lol
They had 4 shots halfway through the game...Flames had 4 goals

Today underscores their biggest gap.
They need a goalie.

Didn't realize it came up to a .913 by the end of the game!
It was still subpar after 40
Good on him for giving the Sabres nothing in the final frame
Yeah I'll take a .913 average 7 days a week and twice on Sundays on this team..
I think the pro/anti markstrom factions need to just find a middle ground and support the guy, even if some prefer vladar. They are both Calgary Flames after all

I don’t really care that much what his save percentage is if he gives up 2 or less.
2 saves or 40 saves. 2 goals against is really all that matters.

Thompson's goal was an absolute ripper. I am not sure there is a player in the NHL that can shoot that hard with the same accuracy.
