Said it earlier but our shot total means nothing. That's a stat to ignore for this team.

This what is happening here.

Just a bunch of crappy shots on net even the commentators are now talking about it.

Just figured this out:
Most shots come from the blue line, approx 60' from the goal, at an "average" of 80 mph (=117 fps). That means the goalie has a full half-second to react/respond or get set - and from the eye test, most NHL goalies (excluding Markstrom apparently) seem to be able to do that most of the time.

Shoot from closer in - even with a lower speed - and you're cutting the reaction period seriously. Not rocket science.

Flames on the PP carry the puck down low and immediately pass it back to the worst location for scoring. What a crap plan and team.

Media is really going in on him right now. No more excuses for him because of defense not being perfect.

I hate Kadri with Huby and Pelts, Kadri is a great player but he holds onto the puck too much and does not see his teammates. Pelts is great at finding open areas but Kadri does not seem him, Huby wants the puck and tries to read the play but Kadri does not pass the puck so Huby is just skating around aimlessly. They think about the game completely differently. I thought they could work together but that was until I understood Kadri's game full.

Kadri is great at getting pucks on net and zone entries, needs to play with players who like getting dirty goals. Put Huberdeau and Pelts with Lindholm.

I legitimately would rather watch the Wranglers live than the Flames.

Maybe Sutter’s system and coaching method has neutered the skill that we do have…

I mean they did have a 2 on 1, breakaway, Pelletier had a point blank chance

Some shots weren't dangerous for sure but they allowed 3 ####ing shots...on pace for 9 against

2nd goal was t exactly a HD chance

I never want the Flames to win another Jack Adams again. The following year is a disaster. How other does this happen? Ffs

Criticize Sutter all you want, but he's working with very little. His comments early in the season about it not being a skill team is very true.

It's crazy how if it wasn't for Markstrom, this team probably would be leading the division despite this awful offense.
I’d love to get another team where the 40 and 35 goal scorers were playing side roles.

Sportsnet should empathize and just remove the shot clock graphic altogether for flames fans. It’s the equivalent of showing us how many offsides there are for each team (ie. meaningless stat that has no impact on the flow of the game or who should win).

Why do NHL coach contracts guarantee you get paid if you get fired? I dont know many other jobs that have that. It's probably the only thing keeping Sutter in a job right now.
