Islanders look like they could track down the Pens or Caps anyway IMO...first two games with Horvat looked pretty good
Yeah, hopefully they make it deep into the playoffs. I want Vancouver to get as low a pick as possible.

As much as I hate to believe that its one of only two options. The pipeline isn't full of sure things coming so you either Spend what you can for a goal scorer or try the reclamation route and hopefully get a Nichushkin type. What a mess.

Even if it were true so what. That said I don't see any evidence that Connor is a bad person whatsoever. more so just a boring hockey guy hyper fixated on his craft, like Crosby. He did speak out this year against disallowed kicking goals and made reference to Coleman's disallowed goal in the playoffs which was appreciated

One plays for the oilers the other doesn’t. Bedard is a better human by default.

McDavid was seen with another woman, is awkward in photos, wears strings as belts, defended Kane, is an Oiler, dives and complains, doesn't play good defense, has no personality.

Bedard seems to have more personality. It looks like he already does a ton of charity work. He has more dimensions to his game. Most of all, he's not an Oiler.

Nope. Crosby is not a boring hockey guy... Don't ever compare these two again.

McDavid is way taller and skates way faster.

Bedard will not be at McDavid's leval.

" I know everything about someone's character based on one interview and the fact that the other guy has been the public eye longer" is setting yourself up for disappointment.

I honestly feel like Duclair could be the missing piece that makes everything come together. His speed and ability to snipe is what our 2nd line is missing. Also I wonder if
Andrew Mangiapane wouldnt be a better fit on the top line with Lindholm/Toff while moving Dube down to 3rd line with Backlund and Coleman. I know the 3rd line has been really good , I just feel like Mangiapane is more of a sniper and has more speed to offer the Lindholm/Toffoli combo.

The Florida Panthers have $4,898,555 put away on LTIR and only 2.85 million in cap space. The return of both Patrik Hornqvist and Anthony Duclair is looming. It appears that the team needs to make a trade.

Panthers GM Bill Zito and Flames GM Brad Treliving have a bit of a working history. “A bit” might be understating it. Between Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett, the Panthers have been a landing spot for high-profile Flames players of late.

Flames media is abuzz with the notion of acquiring Jonathan Huberdeau’s former linemate, Anthony Duclair. There’s some sense to it. They have proven chemistry, Duclair has proven he can be a left-shot right wing with Huberdeau, Duclair’s speed plays an essential role in helping Jonathan’s patient style along.

There lies the problem. The guy had his Achilles tendon surgically repaired during the offseason after a training incident. Is it a good bet that the 27-year-old is ready to help in the immediate future?

Duclair had 31 goals and 27 assists last season on Huberdeau’s line. He’s signed through next season at a three million dollar annual average value.

GET ER DONE BRAD!!!

Crosby may not be the most charismatic player, but if McDavid was a spice he would be flour. The two are nothing alike in that regard.

That’s more than coaching. Sutter had him with the teams best 2 centers the whole time. 1st team power Play. It’s mostly Huberdeau’s
No, it is definitely coaching. When a guys strength is passing into the slot on the rush and the teams system is to take low danger chances from far out and hope it gets through or there is a rebound you can't expect that player to thrive at all.

Can we not send a draft pick away for less than 30 games of Luke Schenn, please?

Not with that attitude we’re not. We could be a bottom pairing defenceman and maybe a bottom 6 winger away from a title you don’t know

Its silly mentioning Boston and Calgary in the same trade rumour for a depth D. Nick needs to check his sources.

If Flames don’t win three of the next four then I hope BT pulls the pin on this season in terms of spending for rentals. In fact i hope he gains some assets by moving guys out.

If Flames make the playoffs with the current team minus a few depth guys then it would give youngsters bigger roles. I’d like that. If they miss, thats a valuable lesson too.

Flames alternate between bad and good seasons, so it’s obvious next year is when they will win the Cup.

.
Not sure I understand why this rumour is "silly"?

Flames definitely require depth at defense

They have been relatively healthy this season, it only takes 1 or 2 injuries and they are in a world of trouble

(assuming they make the playoffs)
