Lindholm line just doesn't seem to be offensively dangerous 5 on 5. Rarely see them putting any pressure on the other team's defence.

This team sucks, got shown that they aren’t even tough.
Please cherry pick some stats to make yourself feel better.
Flames are ‘good if we only pay attention to this limited subset of games that fits my narrative’ lol
Or , but flames have a soft schedule so should make the playoffs and good because of it, garbage

I mean saying you are kinda glad they lost is an odd take for a fan to have

Lines 1 and 2 both
I think huberdeau and lindholm might be worth a second (or third) look

Has anyone mentioned that Jokinen came from the coyotes yet?

Olli Jokinen? Whom we acquired from the Coyotes? I'm pretty sure he's older than that now though. Never too late for a comeback tho.
They were the Phoenix Coyotes as they were known at the time, before the heady days of them representing the entire state of Arizona.
Oh those were the days...

Honestly, I think Huberdeau might have been a product of either his division or his linemates. He throws passes into no man's land, for an 'elite passer' the majority of his passes suck.
|
This is why I don't buy the coaching or line mate arguments with him.
You see guys like Mangiapane, Kadri, Lindholm, Backlund, and Dube, all at least trying to drive the play and put pressure in the o-zone. Huberdeau, for whatever reason, doesn't look like he is trying or knows what he is doing. Almost no individual effort from him. He just kind of loiters around and tries to jump in, but he isn't the guy ever trying to make things happen.
It's completely baffling that he doesn't look at all like the player he was in Florida. Maybe it's a confidence thing, or maybe he can't handle the pressure of being in a hockey focused market with a big contract. It's 50 games in now and I don't expect things to change at this point.

Obviously it didn’t work in hindsight but for years the complaint was Iginla never had a true first line center to play with. There was tons of excitement over the Jokinen trade.

I'm pretty sure that if we asked the Coyotes nicely they'd sign Jokinen out of retirement to trade him to us for Huberdeau.
Its Phoenix, its really just a boiling-hot cauldron of senility and meth.

Gerard Gallant said that “type of game” was his first as head coach of the Rangers. From his comments it seems he rather enjoyed it.

I bet.
If I were a neutral I'd have loved that game. It had it all, but as a Flames fan that was hard.
"Why are fans so dramatic??"
Did they see that game? Swapping leads, physicality, incomprehensible coaching decisions, baffling decisions by the players, stupefying decisions by the referees...
"Why are the fans so dramatic after games like that??"

That whistled down play by Rasmus was aggressively poor
Might've been the best o-zone set up they created all game and it wasn't allowed to play out, because incompetence
Good 2 feet inside the line

Showing up in NY and putting on a "show" with those intentional turnovers was a stroke of genius
Maybe they'll give the refs the order to grant us McDavid treatment so that the Flames can bless more of the league with their great, high octane brand of hockey, and help recover their drop in US viewership

This team has a history of big name acquisitions not living up to expectations, and Treliving decides to give the richest contract in franchise history to a guy before he even plays a single game. I know he was under a lot of pressure after getting spurned by Gaudreau and Tkachuk, but that a huge swing and a miss

5 powerplay goals a game won't get the fans out
hitting and fighting are a HUGE part of what is missing in hockey lately, crazy the powers that be don't see that

I like Tre but that was a mistake that will haunt him for the rest of his career.
Just an epic blunder that could set the franchise back years.
