Such a Flame fan thing to say.
They don't have better forwards. And they don't have better defense. But they do have better goaltending.

Probably also why the Flames started their break early.

Starting Markstrom is the right choice IMO. This guy needs to play up to his potential, and after a break hopefully he feels like it's a fresh start to the season. Can't think of a better time to give him a start.

Yep, if the Flames had their goaltending they would be running away with the division

I hope Adam Fox forgets to take his skate guards off and has an embarrassing spill when he jumps on the ice. What a bum.

I also think today is a good opportunity for a Markstrom start and see if the break might have been a good reset for him.

Having Tanev back is huge for this obviously fragile team. They fall apart without his presence.
The stretch is going to be an absolute slog, and it starts tonight. Let's go I wanna see some playoff games.

Are they running away with it with top 10 goaltending though? You can't expect a repeat of least season in net every year, so with that it isn't as substantial of a difference as you'd expect.
Over the last 30ish games, the Flames are sitting 15th in GA - the 6th ranked team over that span has allowed only 5 more goals (80 v 75). Those 5 goals might equate to 2 wins depending how you look at it. They might also equate to nothing.
For me, it's the odd softie (mainly by Markstrom) that is killing them this year, which wasn't happening last season. But at the same time, there are also breakdowns and a lack of finish on the PP killing them as well.

Why 30 games, do the entire season
Goaltending cost a ton of points early. The OP was about the Rangers having better everything, they don't...except the big one in net

Yup plus I completely forgot about the all star game, and reading some reviews it seems it jumped the shark

Lucky enough to be at MSG for this game tonight. Hopefully a well rested squad can take advantage.

Can the ASG even do that? Its gimmick after ridiculous gimmick. The whole thing is like a "Shark Jumping Festival."
