Novak is kind of like Lendl in that he's clinically good but a player you always find yourself cheering for the guy playing across from him in big matches. With Nadal near the end we are probably entering a bit of a down period until one or two players from the current group of top young players rise above the rest and become great if that even happens.

Roman Safiullin wins the final over Vasek 6-2 7-5 at the challenger event in Germany. A very good week for Vasek though, Roman just seems to have his number.

Meanwhile, you know a WTA 500 tourney in Abu Dhabi is crammed full with top players when Leylah has to go through qualifying to enter the main draw. She won her qualifying match earlier today as did Rebecca Marino. Also, I saw a tweet from Bianca stating that she is going to try to play Abu Dhabi which likely means her injury is not too serious.
