I absolutely loved it, they really don't make it like this anymore, just a fun throwback action/sci fi movie that is criminally under appreciated, highly recommend this hidden gem.

and nothing like the book at all. It was written by Stephen King's alias, Richard Bachman, and was far better than the movie.
Actually surprised they havent made a movie from The Long Walk, also part of that series.

Black Panther 2 was pretty good, I'd much rather re-watch that than the first one, which had mostly just two things going for it: combat rhinos and Killmonger.

2 is also fairly well reviewed and has a significantly higher audience rating in Rotten Tomatoes than the first one, and has made well north of 800M in the box office. By every possible standard it's a well made and popular addition to the franchise.

People here are just curmudgeons who really love to hate every new superhero movie.

I am a curmudgeon that loves New Hollywood more than anything else, but I do wonder how much stock you can put in the audience score for the first one due to bad faith review bombing etc.

No curmudgeonlyness here. It's a bad movie from my perspective. Reviews or not. People can enjoy it and share their thoughts, I'm not going to argue anyone about it if they liked it. For me, it wasn't good plain and simple.

Edgar Wright has signed on to remake The Running Man, looking forward to what he does with the property.

I have mixed feelings about Wright directing a remake. It'll either be amazing or fall just short of being good. He's due for a success though.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Can't forget that one. Such a great adaptation of the graphic novels.

I guess since we're in this thread I'm officially recommending it.

It should be a rule in this thread that if you recommend a show you have to state where you watched it. Ie. theatres, Netflix, Crave.., etc. there’s a ####ing thousand apps and programs and million shows on all these networks so for the love of god if you’re going to recommend something save everyone 20 minutes and just say what platform you saw it on. Those who violate this rule should get punched in the taint.

You can't Yoho in here to drop a statement like that without some clarification.

Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of Dead and Hot Fuzz are all near perfect movies and 100% rewatchable anytime they're on.

The Justwatch app will tell you where you can watch movies and tv shows. It takes no time at all.

Yeah, if you're confused or lost just use that app. Much easier than yelling at a few dozen people for not doing a specific thing.

Just watched Banshees (on Blu ray, no clue where it's streaming) and I agree excellent film, dealing with some deep topics while also at times being really funny. I would highly recommend this, it deserves all the praise it's getting from the Academy.

Interesting. Still haven't seen, friends are telling me to

84% and certified on RT. Did all these critics just give a sympathy thumbs up to honour Boseman's memorial project?
