Yeah I'll be so pissed if I end up dying in a car accident unexpectedly or something. I have a bucket list of drugs I want to hit when there's just a month or two left.

Nope, it isn't pure enough to be converted back into glass. The glass from the bottle depots gets converted into fiberglass insulation, the glass from the blue carts gets ground up and used for sand blasting.
Which is really too bad, as using glass cullet instead of virgin glass for fiberglass saves a great deal of energy and makes a big environmental difference, whereas using crushed glass instead of sand for sandblasting is borderline greenwashing - it would very likely save energy to throw the glass in the black bin and dig up new sand.

Coax Jamie Lundmark out of retirement. That guy should have been a baseball player. Me and a buddy went to a practice, and were made to sit in the second tier.
We sat about 6 rows up at centre ice, second tier. I yelled to Jamie to toss a puck up, he even stopped before throwing to ask if I was sure. He then launched an absolute dart where I had to move my right hand no more than three inches to make the painful catch, lol.

Does anyone find they're getting sick a lot more these days? In the past 8 months or so, it feels like I can't even go more than a month or 2 without catching some nasty cold or flu. The weird thing is, from 2020 until about late May 2022, I didn't get sick even once.
I was a total sick kid growing up, so this is nothing new. But since I got into my mid to late 20s it went away, pretty much just got sick twice a year. I was a front-line worker over Covid and somehow managed to avoid it the entire time which blows my mind, but now I can't stop getting sick. I almost wonder if masking for that long prevented me from being exposed to germs and my immune system weakened to my pathetic kid immune system and I'm having to build it back up.
Anybody else have this problem? I literally just shook a nasty almost 3 week cold/flu last week that's been going around, now today I already feel like I'm catching another one lol

The opposite for me. I used to get at least a couple of colds a year, migraines once in a while, sometimes a stomache bug. Other than a mild bout with Covid last spring I haven't been sick in 3 years.

Same. Somewhere between 1-3 colds per year. Other than covid last spring I haven't been sick since 2019.

Sainters7.
You need more fresh air. Even if it means opening a window the odd time, it helps. Also change your furnace filter.
Good luck.

another sign of age is outdated references.
I mentioned to a red haired work friend that she looked like Pipi Longstocking today.
She knew who that was, but the other people who heard were just "huh? who?"

Must be time for a gritty reboot then. Longstock and Two Smoking Pigtails. Pipi is out to paint the town as red as her head.

Or things that have specific words to them, but people don't know anymore.
"Oh nice, you went with a whitewashed look."
"Huh?"
"Erm umm... you painted the wood white in a way that it looks like it wasn't totally painted."
"Yeah! That's the look I was going for!"
TBH, I think part of this is me always thinking about Tom Sawyer when I think about painting a fence.

I’m a regular donor and am booked to donate blood next week but I got an email inviting me to come in today. I’ve never seen that before. Apparently, they’re desperate. Please donate if you’re eligible.

My grandpa is receiving a small amount of blood transfusions every 2 weeks, so to everyone who donates I would like to thank all of you.

Is Eau Claire literally the only place to donate blood? Weird. I don't know why I always assumed there were more locations to donate.
https://www.blood.ca/en/blood/donor-...ocations#blood
I'm on the stem cell registry, but maybe I should consider donating blood as well.
EDIT: Ah ####, recent travels have made it so that I need to wait 21 days to donate. But I'll consider contacting them later and get my first time donation thing set up.
