This team is just no fun to watch this season. Granted I've been slowly losing interest in the NHL in general over the last couple of years, mostly due to the joke officiating and all the ridiculous bulls*** and obvious league bias involving the Oilers and McLotteryball.
On paper it looked like this year's Flames team was gonna be pretty formidable and maybe finish tops in the division. But man, the chemistry and overall effort just isn't there half the time. Sometimes they look really good playing against some of the elite teams in the league...and then you get a lot of games like tonight where they look completely flat and disinterested while making countless boneheaded decisions with and without the puck. It's frustrating.

A team should be able to score 3 goals in a period. The 30th place Hawks just did, and the Flames are theoretically playing a much worse team with a goalie making his 2nd start. I still have hope.

Great point, of course the types of opportunities they are getting are meaningless. Good lord. |

This game is more on defense than Markstrom. There were a lot of defensive gaffs in the 2nd. That 3rd goal in particular was terrible

I think I’ll tune out so the Flames can have an amazing come from behind win. Somehow, that never happens when I’m watching. Hopefully a line shuffle will result in Pelletier’s first goal.

I didn’t like the first goal but the remainder are not on Markstrom. However, Darryl needs to realize the team doesn’t play well in front of him. Just roll with vladar and see if you keep picking up points.
 Bah.

if a team falls apart like this with one player gone - it's a poorly coached and structured team. This is so painful.

It's okay to say this game is not his fault at all and leave it at that.
 |
It reeks of an agenda. The whole “they don’t play well in front of him”. Saying he has to make the big save when he made 4-5 just on the replays they’re showing now.

The Flames have one goal against the 32nd place team.

Not going anywhere without some offensive bite
Hanifin and ras were caught pinching because they're trying to get things going at the other end because the forwards can't seem to do it themselves

If we could score some goals without 30 shots to do it them maybe we wouldn't have our top pairing trying to play superman and exposing things defensively

Thats probably the biggest misrepresentation of what Ive said ever on CP.

What I said is. If you listen to goalie coaches breakdown what they want from goalies they will tell you that most highlight reel saves are eye rollers for them because its a goalie having to yard sale themselves from being out of position.

Of course you take the save regardless of how its made. But a goalie making sprawling saves in a game isnt always indicative that the goalie is dialed in or playing well.
