How about Klingberg?
God no. He is worse in his own end than Stone. I wouldn't touch Klingberg with a 10 foot pole. I think he ends up in Toronto, not O Reilly.

Hasn’t Klingberg been the worst defenseman in the entire NHL by some metrics?

He is clearly behind Hanifin, Andersson, Weegar, and Tanev in the rotation. That's why he would be the #5 D. I could even argue that he would be #6 on the depth chart if Kylington comes back. Again it comes back to the argument of him being a luxury we might not be able to afford in a cap pinch.

I didn't say he's not a valuable player, but I still think that his partner has to cover for him a bit in the defensive zone when he's not on the 3rd pairing. The hits are great, the goal scoring and leading transitions were a nice bonus this season. The fact he is leading the team in +/- and his defense of zone entries are both awesome. However, he still gets lost in his own zone when the other team starts cycling the puck. I could be biased, but it just seems that the other team gets a couple of grade A chances each game Z plays in the top 4 while he's on the ice.

There’s always the Patrick Kane rental too. He’d be fun to watch with Kadri and Huberdeau.

if I could stomach the cost, sure

this team needs to show a lot more promise to warrant a Kane rental though

I would need to see elite Markstrom or Vladar turn into a budding star, and closer to the the same defensive structure as last year

it would be wasteful otherwise

At the very least he’d bury what Huberdeau fed him. But he’d cost a lot, because they’d need to retain (maybe thru two teams).

Man only 9 goals. Has anyone watched him? Does he just have no one to pass him the puck?

It's possible that Florida traded Bedard/Fantilli/Carlsson/Michkov for 30 games of Ben Chiarot.

Domi. Would consider extending also if the price was right. He looks like he's matured.

that he consistently sticks out this year on a bottom feeder where even Kane has kind of checked out tells me about how competitive he is as well

Kane, Horvat, O’Rielly, Toews, Meir, Tarasenko, Bertuzzi, Domi, Van Riemsdyk, Nyquist, Monahan,
Klingberg, Shattenkirk, Ghostbear, Gavrikov, Kulikov, Edmondson, Schenn

A lot of people available, I bet the Flames get at least one of those guys (not Sean)

O'reilly would look good under Sutter also.

McCabe, Duclair, Dumba (rumoured if the Wild fall out)

Duhatshek apparently links the Flames to Max Comtois. This is a player I’ve suggested before, and I would love him here. He’s big, mean, and physical, and has upside as a second liner. 2 seasons ago, he had 33 points in 55 games, but has dealt with injuries since then…

Lots of juice, got the good good from the local OJ. Believe what you want.

Teams interested in gambling on Mangipane in a different system…Columbus? New Jersey? Carolina?
Backlund is desired by more then one contender?
Markstrom wants out? Some tea here, won’t share … I don’t buy it personally.
Tanev shoulder MAY be ####ed. Swelling is bad. Same Injury as last year?

Team still trying to decide direction. Tre is working hard to improve D, Expensive market (Dumba?Klingberg? (All cost 2023 1st, Tre won’t move it)

Sutter isn’t against youth… accountability, maturity and entitlement are an issue with majority of 18-23 Players. He paints them all with the same brush for a reason. Loves Pelt, expect to be in top 9 post break? He wants to see Zary but only if he plays specifically slotted at C not as a winger.

If we trade Backlund we are either giving up or trading for an extended Horvat/O’Rielly
