I must have missed that press release. First it was humanitarian aid (fully support) then financial aid ( to be expected , part and parcel with humanitarian aid ) now, we are talking supplying deadly weapons, this is a far line from where we started. I do not support this. as I type this, 31 US Abrams are being sent to Ukraine.

In my opinion, it is naive to think NATO is not already fighting this war, they are just using ukrainian lives to do it.

What is the problem with this? I'd hope our allies would send us deadly weapons if Russia invaded us. Hopefully these deadly weapons kill some invading Russians and save Ukrainian lives. How could you not support that?

We’ve been sending weapons for over a year. Where have you been for the last 12 months? We’re drawing the line at tanks but self propelled guns, rockets ect were ok? Why are we letting North Korea fight to the last Russian?

I refuse to cheerlead the death of anyone Fuzz, those Russians you want dead are sons and fathers as well as the Ukrainian lives.

One side is an aggressor nation here, has committed overwhelming number of war crimes, and whose population is overwhelming advocating war crimes and violence against the opposing side. It isn't cheerleading, its being pragmatic about the situation. I would like to hear your solution to stopping an aggressor nation that has been shown to break every treaty they've agreed to, lied constantly about the situation on the ground, and the actions of their own government/armed forces. Appeasing them clearly doesn't work.

Sure, but one is a means to an end. Obviously we'd all prefer peace to just break out immediately, but clearly that isn't going to happen unless they force the issue. It sucks, it's sad, but yes, the more Russian invaders that die, the better.

I agree, its a incredibly difficult situation. What is the best avenue to take, I sure as hell don't know. Without a doubt there is 2 sides to every story though.

I am going to step out of this thread.

I don't get you. If we do nothing doesn't that mean more Ukrainian deaths? They're the fataing victims here...why wouldn't we help them?

Sure there are two sides to every story, but when one keeps on putting out false and disingenuous arguments w/o any ability to compromise, constantly lying, and willing to use violence offensively, the sides cannot realistically be treated as equivalent. Saying there are two sides without that context is unjustly elevating the validity of the Russian argument.

Putin isn't interested in peace, or he would have left. He hasn't given anyone much of a choice here, so I choose to support the country being invaded by thugs. If those thugs have to die to defend the lives of innocent Ukrainians, that's there choice. They can leave any day. Ukraine isn't going to follow them and carry the war on.

How big is the Russian flag on your truck? What a ridiculous stance to take.

Side One: Country invades neighbour, starts getting its ass beat, deliberately starts terror attacks on civilians out of petulant lack of acceptance that it's a middling power riddled with paralyzing corruption

Side Two: NAZIS

Ah, the Russian supporter attack. I wondered how long it would take, and to be fair it was longer then expected.

Russia is the aggressor, and is causing death and destruction. Peace is hard to reach when neither side are interested in it.

Serious question. How many here are willing to volunteer for service should Canada or NATO chose to formally enter this war? If the call were to go out for volunteers, Who here is willing to answer.
I am not.
