You don't want to force it in a risky spot, but at some point in OT you do need to try to make a play and beat somebody 1:1 to get a chance.
I think challenging 1on1 is hard to do if you don't got speed tho. Kadri did the right thing in resetting by taking the puck out of the zone, and come in with speed to generate a decent shot on net. Before they were trying to force things from a stationary position which resulted in bad turnovers.

The latter is actually a critical flaw with PP1 right now. Way to stationary and indecisive. Sutter mention in a press last week that in general the team needs to play with motion. I feel like we see that 5 on 5, and PP2 does it far better than PP1.

That unit is so washed right now and overthinking rather than just doing. I think the lines should be mixed up to inject different energy.

Could you imagine if the Flames had a legit sniper?

Hope Tanev will be okay. If not. Rather he heal up now rather than play hurt.

Flames played a really good game. They deserved to win, and they won. Certainly wasn’t mistake free hockey, but that doesn’t exist.

Dueher - Lewis - Pelletier is freaking awesome. If Lewis had some better luck (/skill) tonight, Pellts probably walks away with his first two NHL points.

Pelletier is impressing me, as is Dueher.

Great win! Nice try with the dive at the end there Johnny.

Really liked Anderson-Lindholm-Backlund in OT, smart plays and patience.

What makes me laugh is that because I live in Edmonton, you guys assume I’m an Oilers fan . That’s hilarious. I hate the Oilers more than most of you . I’ll be down in Calgary for the Hawks game . Let’s all meet up

Definitely nice to get the two points and really that’s all that matters at this juncture in the season. Was fun to see the Johnny storyline play out as it gives fans something else to get excited or passionate about. I was entertained for the evening and one of the more memorable games of the season.

Other than the unfortunate turnover I think Pelletier manages the puck pretty wisely, which should endear him to Darryl.

He created opportunities in limited minutes. Give him another game!

Dube is really taking a step. Duehr and Pelletier both look like keepers.

Weager had a brutal game.

Those 3 Swedes shadowed Gaudreau during the OT. Not the worst idea
