closing out bottom dwellers in these trap games is tough for this team probably due to focus reasons, so I'll take this game as a step forward

they closed out regulation and played OT exactly like they needed to

persistent pressure until they got the next goal

Rasmus Anderson might be my second favorite Flame (Tanev holds the keys to my Flames heart). But Razzy is just solid. Loved his approach in OT, he made calm, smart plays.

Flames are a top 5 team in 5v5 xgf% and a bottom 5 team in penalty differential.

There is a problem beyond incompetence.

Also the Blasty jerseys are fantastic and, if the C of Red weren't such a time-honoured tradition, I honestly wouldn't even object to them wearing them in the playoffs. I genuinely think they play bigger in them.

Nah I think hes right.

Refs were terrible against the Flames for the first 50 minutes and it was likely the only reason it was close.

But in the last 10 plus OT (from the missed hook on Toffoli on) they put their whistles away for the most part and it benefitted the Flames.

See above re: Tanev ... this is where they could really use Kylington but (not knowing anything) I wouldn't exactly count on it. Could see them jumping ahead of the queue in the trade market.
I’d like to think that BJs don’t score their 2 quick PP goals if Tanev is on the ice.

BJs goalie was all world tonight.

Kylington is no where near the value….Tanev is.

The Flames were dominant the whole game more or less. The score greatly flatters Columbus.

No, Sportsnet force feeds us Leafs and other games Saturday and I also watch the Bruins. He’s right that the reffing is generally very bad but tonight was elite bias. Like, did you guys watch the first 2 periods? I have legit never seen anything like that before.

How dare you put it like that and make me question my belief with...stats and information.

That is concerning though, strikes me as a move to a NBA style of reffing which frankly is unwatchable most nights.
