Certainly isn't everybody, but it makes me smile a bit to see some people with the "grow up, get a thicker skin and don't worry about what Sutter says" to immediately having very hurt feelings that a player left when it was his right to do so because they don't personally agree with his decision or how he made it.

The firmer deadline was the previous July. Johnny didn't want to sign then, for good reason - his offers were commensurate with his previous 2 seasons.
But can you imagine the low price he would have gotten? He'd have been a one year rental coming off two pretty mediocre seasons.
By all accounts he said he wanted to get a deal done, and I think he probably meant it, so it's hard for me to blame Treliving for trusting a player.

As fans we need to start having some serious discussions about who we prefer Bedard to go to.
CBJ - Palatable for me, but then Johnny might win a Cup with him. Barf.
ANA - In division? Barf.
CHI - Multiple firsts, multiple Cups. Abuse scandal and coverup. Barf.
ARI - Playing his first 5 years in a tiny rink. Barf.
SJS - In division. Barf.
VAN - Barf. Barf. Barf.
MTL - In the east at least. Still, barf.
I just don't know. Everything sucks.

The NHL is going to want to see a resurgance in Chicago, I guarantee they win the lottery, regardless of their final position.

if AZ gets their arena approved this spring Bedard could be playing in a proper barn before his ELC is over. construction moves really fast down there

If the NHL had any influence over the draft lottery, McDavid would not be in Edmonton.

Piere Lambert is reffing, so a win is definitely not a given tonight.

Flames playing the worst team in the NHL in a game where one of their own returns? This has guaranteed loss written all over it. ;-)

Pretty much it.
A lot of these signing happen last minute that's why I wasn't worried it didn't happen earlier. Turns out he screwed us last second not the GM's fault for taking the word of a player.
He went out and found out how wanted he was and tried to come back but the Flames told him no.
Imagine screwing a team last second and going to free agency and seeing the "insulting" offers and crawling back to try to get more money.
We recognize his accomplishments as a Flame in the regular season but no way do I cheer on a opposing player. This isn't the return of an icon like Jarome Iginla.

Hat trick for Gaudreau!
No, wait....
Hat trick for Gudbranson, all three slick setups by Johnny. That seems like a very Calgary Flame thing to have happen.

I think Sutter heard the "uproar" on how he treated Pelletier with his post game comments.

His Pregame stuff and off days are usually the better side of Sutter. You don't always get it but sometimes he does give you some good answers.

I want to see JG get the Tavares treatment. I think Darryl is way off base if he thinks he will be well received.
