My guess is that Quinn's defense gets him a really good chance at another HC role.
With him then gone, JJ makes the call to punt McCarthy.

Hard to blame McCarthy but I don't think Jones can resist an available Payton. McCarthy didn't do enough with Rogers and that can be the argument with Prescott too.

Oh I agree with you. McCarthy is such a mediocre coach. Payton would be a massive improvement but he’ll be limited by a limited QB.
