On this, a day of National Pride in the pure sport of hockey, the Vancouver Canucks are disgraceful.

The good news is that Bruce will land on his feet and the Cansucks will always be a trash organization.
The way an organization treats their employees speaks volumes about who they are.

Honestly though, Boudreau is probably not the guy to coach a team with weak defense. Not saying he isn't a good coach especially for an offensive team, but his teams usually trade chances and have average GAA.

Adam Foote as an assistant coach for Rick Tocchets staff? He was a terrible coach in Kelowna; really only given that position because his kids were on the team. Maybe I'll be wrong but I have my doubts. So how fitting for that diaster.

Freidman just said the arena staff were confiscating signs showing support for Bruce last night. If true, not a very good look.

Tough end to that game. It really highlighted how bad JT Miller is as a player and he's 100 times worse as a person. That aside, really nice emotional send off for Boudreau and an absolute embarrassment for that franchise. Irredeemable.

There were a few there tonight, they must have got the hint that this was too big to stifle.

Bruce will land on his feet somewhere. He'd be a good fit in Ottawa.

If I was a fan I'd be sour too. String a coach along for days or weeks and in the end all of it is for Rick friggin Tocchet? That's gotta sting.

I cheered for the Coyotes during the Tocchet years. He turned Keller into a 40-point guy.

If teams can't perform for coaches like Boudreau and Sutter, who can they perform for?
Both Vancouver and Calgary should be better than they are. I really don't get it. Further, I thought the three Canadian teams would have stomped the Pacific this year.
Yet it's looking like two will miss with an outside chance at all three missing.

They have enough talent, it's just in the wrong positions
If they could trade two wingers for two comparable defenseman, I.e boeser and garland are both 2nd line wingers, boeser fringe 1st line. For two 2nd pairing d men
Team would be drastically difference, problem is right now with Hughes being only top pairing guy, and the rest being 3rd pairing or worse.
It's why we set the record for blown multi goal leads through 40 games, but are also 2nd in the league in comeback wins
Just too run and gun out of necessity
Reason why last year the run under bruce was so good was because of demko, and OEL/myers played like top 4 d men. Both those things are gone this year

Well I think that this may be the end of me being a Canucks fan. This is straight up bizarre behaviours on the part of a #### owner who does horrible things. The team isn't good enough and hasn't performed well but they are a team built to either rely on Vezina trophy quality goaltending or to outscore their defensive inadequacies, which isn't how teams win
.
.
.
I guess this is how I bandwagon onto another teams fanbase.

Gonchar would be interesting as an assistant. He had a good 3 years as an assistant in Pittsburgh before they cleaned house in 2020. I figured a team would have snagged him up by now and I wouldn't be surprised to see him become a HC one day. He was a talented player and good leader who seems to have a lot of respect.
