Where from?
We’re trying to find litter that doesn’t track nor has crazy dust and small particles that get tracked out everywhere plus doesn’t stink either from the cat or excess fragrance and has to clump. Not too much to ask for?

Damn, I always throw the bag out but I have one that works beautifully. Clumping, doesn't track (too much) or dust. I'll check next time I'm in this weekend.

I use the Arm & Hammer Slide Multi-Cat and a cat litter “trapper” mat. Best thing I’ve bought in the cat litter department, honestly.

I think I am done with Costco cat litter (for our cat). After having a superior experience with the Tidy Cat stuff, especially now that our cat gave the OK by actually using it, and not urinating on rugs and beds, we’ll be switching to that as soon as the Costco stuff runs out. The problem with the Costco’s is it would clump, but not very well so the clump would break up as you’re scooping and fall back into the litter.

The aftermath of this is well documented in the Black Mirror episode, “Metalhead”.

So my current GMG is with the Last Hunt's attempts to trick people into thinking they're getting a special deal. To be fair, I do love that site and buy a ton of outdoor gear from there, but the way they do their "deals" is a bit irritating. For example, I go on there yesterday and find a few things I might like to purchase at 40% off, but ultimately think to myself, "nah, that's not a bad deal but not quite good to make me pull the trigger."
This morning, I wake up to a "secret sale" coupon code in my inbox for an extra 20% off any item - perfect, I think to myself; that pushes those items over the edge to a point where I'll buy them... Except I check and they've been changed to 25% off. 25% off stacked with a discount code is... 40% off. Nothing has changed.
I'm sure this works because people are stupid but it's a pretty annoying practice.

Why is it that when I have a number of tasks to finish on a Friday so that a bunch of processes can run over the weekend in order for everything to be ready for Monday morning my laptop decides it is starting the weekend early? Even a restart of the system doesn't seem to have fixed the processing issues this morning. I may just have to kill my plans and push things back at this rate.

Didn't Sport Chek get into trouble for something similar?
I think it was found they artificially inflated prices only to drop them to make it look like a sale.

I don't think that's the same thing though -- all they've done is changed who they're targeting with the 40% off sale. Repeat customers / people who have signed up for their mailing list. If you sign up, you'll get the 'secret' coupon code and get the full 40% off. If you don't, you get 25% off.
IIRC, what SportChek did was inflate the stated retail price to levels above what they were before the sale kicked in, then discounted them to make it appear like the savings were huge when they were minimal at best.

It is kind of the same thing, but they were both sale prices. Basically, they say "shop our XYZ sale!" and it's 40% off. Then that one ends and they say, "shop our ZYX sale!" and... it's 40% off. You just get to the same price by different paths.
I will still use the site it's just frustrating because it's a waste of time, I have to go back on the site and verify that, yes, indeed, I earlier decided I wasn't interested in buying it at that price, and it's still the same price. Which is presumably the point - get me to go back on the site and potentially talk myself into buying the thing this time. But I resent the tactic.

Shoppers kinda does this as well for the bonus redemption thing. Some discounts on items expire just the day before the bonus redemption promotion. Occasionally you'll luck out and it overlaps. Other times, they accidentally forgot to remove the tag and they honor the expiring pricing anyways (double dip, hell yeah)!

If it was this:
Jan 1-19
Regular price: $100
Jan 20 - SALE! 25% off event!
Regular price: $120
Sale price: $90 (Save 25%!)
Then that's a problem.

Best part is that if I go to their site, it says "Login to access our SECRET SALE". Apparently for never having shopped there, I'm a pretty good customer too.

Do you think those pricing changes happened across the board, or would some items have stayed at 40% and then the stacked 25% would actually have been better?
Some brands fluctuate more than others on there, and there are still tons of items with >30% discount...it just sounds like bad luck for your particular item (and they've probably got it appropriately priced if you've been on the fence to buy or not)

Canadian tire has furnace pellets. The price has gone up, about $8 for 40lbs now.

Back to more tipping gear grinders.
I buy a new 65" TV online to pickup myself(wanted it to start the weekend and not wait for delivery). Am a bit tepid on it fitting in my car. I get to the store, show my ID and they send a young kid to help me bring it out. We gotta work it out and shift some stuff around and get it in on a bit of angle and when we get it in, he's genuinely stoked and gives a high five. I thank him sincerely and offer a twenty for his help, which was needed. He looks at it and I could see the conflict in his face and then turns it down, stating company policy. I try to convince him to palm it, or I drop it on the ground, but still no. On the way home I decide to celebrate by getting a six pack and of course there is a tip option and by maybe by intention, I have to hit the "no tip" touchscreen more than once, for someone who has offered nothing in the way of service.
Kind of annoys me that I can't recognize and reward someone for their friendly help with more compensation.

If you had gone in and said you'd return the tv unless you could give the kid the tip he deserved you'd of been a hero.
