No drama at all today as the entire day session is done.

I've been pumping his tires for a while as he's hitting his stride as a pro. I don't think it's going to happen this year but it would be cool if he were to win the AO as I imagine it may be the first time a grand slam tournament would have father and son winners.

The entire Men's draw: "Wait, they let him into the country this time? ...Yeah, no, we're good, want no part of this. Give him 22."
Also, keeping track of the Netflix curse, Sakkari is down in a third set and if that continues Felix would be the sole survivor.
Also, Iga is the best.

The Shapo rally from two sets down came up just a bit short as Hurkacz won in five sets.

Felix is indeed the last person left standing on the island.

First of all, fantastic win by Sebi Korda. I just have to question the strategy and tactics of Meddy though, for a guy with a big game (great serve, awesome movement for such a tall player and excellent ground strokes from both wings), he seems content to stay way behind the baseline and let the other player dictate the majority of points. I mean, he's reached number 1 in the world and won a grand slam title so it's probably tough to change a style of game that has been successful, but in my opinion, he needs to be more aggressive and force the other player to come up with the goods.

If Felix wins his next he defends his points and anything else is gravy. He's not on top form so that in itself is a pretty big win. I don't know that I back him against either of Sinner or Tsitsipas.
Norris actually might have been a better match up with how badly he played that match, his service game was extremely vulnerable. Lehecka still hit a bunch of miracle winners to take it so we shall have to see if he still has a horseshoe rammed up his butt.

Yeah I agree he's a little too passive. Seems content to just to run around and hope his opponent makes a mistake. He has a good serve and ability to get a lot of balls back due to his reach but he's going to have to hit another level if he plans on becoming a truly great player.

In fairness to Medvedev when he was at his top level he was almost completely unbreakable. If you are rightly confident that you will never lose your serve, waiting around for an opportunity to pounce on your opponent's isn't a terrible way to do it. Unfortunately for him he is at about 80% of that level and that's more than enough for the gameplan to fall apart.

Australia is where the dream died for Medvedev last year. He hasn't looked like the same player since that match IMO. Plus I'm sure having to miss Wimbledon also affected him mentally.

Bottom half is interesting today. Other than Djokovic and Rublev on a collision course to meet in the QF. The rest, especially the bottom quarter, is wide open.
Who would you pick out of these guys to make the semifinals?
Popyrin
Shelton
Wolf
Mmoh
Murray
Bautista Agut
Paul
Brooksby
