Speculation for sure. But I dont know about calling it misinformation as its not a secret things were a lot looser during the pandemic in most of the USA. Prior to Summer no one could say with any certainty if we would re-enter those kinds of restrictions up here or not come winter time. So I guess it's possible? But I'd imagine it was likely for other reasons.

If you saw Commodore's twitter during the pandemic he made some pretty ignorant comments. Hearing him talk politics for a short period on the podcast was cringey, it's not like he's a brilliant mind or anything.
There is nothing to suggest that Gaudreau left because of the pandemic rules. He lived in Alberta where the rules were as lax as a lot of the US.

Are they replaying old games? I started listening and was like, “this sounds like Peter Maher” and then he was naming players from several seasons ago and I later recognized it as that game where the bench clearing brawl happened between Vancouver and Calgary when Torterella and Hartley were coaching.

Regardless of what hes said prior. Claiming he was spreading misinformation on the podcast about COVID is misinformation itself.
He started off saying that he doesnt know Johnny well and its pure speculation that him and his wife might not of enjoyed the restrictions and inability to see family. He didnt say much else. If someone doesnt like his views thats fine but you dont have to misrepresent what he said to make that point either.

He should keep his uneducated mouth shut crying about lockdown what lockdown. The border was closed both ways.
I wouldn't expect anything less from the two idiots on the podcast anyways getting a dumb guest like him who keeps crying Babcock ruined his career.

Hence the speculation that an american might wanna be south of that border in case it happens again LOL
You let your politics bleed out too much in this. Doesnt seem healthy to be so angry at a podcast and a guest over something so small (who regardless of what YOU think about his views is a former Flame and lives in the city).

I mean, considering at least one American player forced his way out of a Canadian city citing border issues due to covid restrictions as a reason why it's not unreasonable to assume that could've played a part. I don't know why you're crying about it.
His point on Babcock seems to have been that he's a fraud and a jackass who thinks he's above the teams he coaches. He's largely been vindicated there. Such a bizarrely angry post.

Who?
Even that idiot JT Miller signed a extension in Vancouver.
Babcock maybe a jackass but Commodore was borderline NHL player. He sucked and every laughed at the contract.

I never said anything about misinformation. I said he's an ignorant dummy.
On the podcast he said something along the lines of the rules in Canada being insane, which is just silly.
It may be why Johnny left who the hell knows, but it wouldn't be my first guess.

Yeah, I think the outside context probably makes Commodore's comments on the show a little more cringe, but frankly perception is reality for a lot of folks. And I think it's actually fair speculation to consider how the Pandemic factors into people's decisions about where to live and work.
Again, not saying Mike's perception about the level of restrictions is correct, but Alberta (as lax as we were) definitely took things more seriously than a lot of the individual States.

It's not perception, the considerations mentioned is/was reality. Mike maintains a place in Arizona as well as Calgary so he probably has a better view of what restrictions are comparatively than most Calgarians. If you're an American who is about to have your first child who's extended family all lives in the United States and one of your most important considerations is wanting to have family be able to visit as they please, given the past three years why would you locate across the border from the US if you have a choice?
Also, Alberta's restrictions were only lax by Ontario / Quebec / Maritime standards and mostly inline with other western provinces like BC and Saskatchewan. By US standards they were incredibly long standing. Recall that in the 2021 playoffs it was only Canadian teams that were playing in front of crowdless arenas and that bled into more than halfway through the 2021/2022 season. Given all this, it's reasonable to assume that Canada would be the first to close and restrict and the last to open up in any future scenario. If you are American and given the choice, which side of the border would you want to be?

Pinder told a story right after that talking about how a WAG of a player was telling him they left Canada because it was an awful experience for her during the year she was here. I suspect it played a role in the decision but probably not a major one.

No Mike is an idiot and you can clearly see it with who his friends are *cough* James Neal. He has a slanted POV to fit his ant-vaxx narrative. We didn't have lockdowns in Canada or the US we had restrictions and what restrictions became too much they couldn't handle? It was pretty lax everyone was pretty much free to do anything most of the time.
The crowds came back under the vaccine passport fully, and we had another covid breakout which not only put a restriction on crowds but the league had to shutdown including AMERICAN teams.
If they want to walk around in a plague ridden USA that's fine, but don't blame Canada for people leaving it was the same. The idiots on that podcast agreeing with him with zero pushback was hilarious.

I mean, what did you expect Pinder and Boomer to do? The idea that pandemic stuff may have impacted decision making is valid. It's a sports talk show. Not The Current on CBC.
Honestly, hockey is inherently a pretty Right leaning community. I think you need to fire up a little cognitive dissonance to follow the NHL. At least I do, especially when I hear Danielle Smith's propaganda advertised on the Fan.

So, you've made it clear that you think Boomer and Pinder are idiots, and you obviously have a low opinion of Commodore. I'm curious, why were you listening (or watching) to a show that you most certainly do not like?

Mike Commodore is a middle aged (probably alcoholic) lunkhead, but nothing he said was anti-vax or misinformation on that podcast.
Which isn’t to say he hasn’t been a moron on Twitter.
Most people are.

How can Mike Commodore be besties with Holland & publicly excoriate and humiliate Babcock?
Commodore is big balls when he has hot takes, but he’s gutless when it comes to discussing the job old Kenny has done running the Oilers.
He obviously picks his spots to fit his benefit or his narrative.
