One thing i really notice live tonight with Huberdeau is that hes probably too focused on defense.

Late leaving the defensive zone because hes worried about flying the zone too early. In the offensive zone he's often high man in the zone and peeling off the forecheck early to be in better defensive position on a pinch.

IMO you need to let your top guys cheat a little bit and take some risk to produce offense.

Zero risk, scared to lose hockey by this coach and forward group right now and Huberdeau might be the face of that right now.

Also Lucic has been terrible tonight - two steps behind everywhere on the ice. His Forecheck has been abysmal. Huberdeau and Kadri might as well be playing 4v5.

Make the finals, that was good. I needed a laugh tonight.

Don't want to pile on, but Lucic should not be playing anywhere near the top line on the team. It would be nice to put someone with some offensive skill on that wing, I'm sure the other two would really appreciate it. That line just isn't cutting it. I'd mix up the lines and try Lindholm on the wing on the top line for a game or two. A spark is badly needed.

What do you do to try and win with 4 goals needed in the 3rd? I have no idea.

The Avs are so quick. They've created so many odd-man chances on our neutral zone turnovers because they get the puck back into our zone immediately.

It seems almost painfully obvious that the should keep the Backlund line together, move Lindholm up to RW on the Kadri line, move Ruzicka to center Dube and Toffoli and put whoever you want on the 4th line. Since it seems painfully obvious to me, I suspect it will never happen.

Oh, he's betting Oilers going to get the first 3 PP in each game of each series. Then they going to get a PP after every 5 minutes there after.

We got some mileage out of it for a few games, but it is time to stick a fork in it.

I would try Pelletier and let Lucic sit again. It seemed to work last time.

You do realize that Lewis is probably the only forward on this team who has exceeded his expectations?

TOP LINE?! Huberdeau is dog water. He can sit in the box. I hope he gets caught with cocaine in his shoes… anything to get out of that contract.

Kadri has the wrong linemates. Put him with puck hounds mangipane and Dube.

Those lines make a lot of sense.

One goal last game. Zero tonight. Can't hurt to try something, anything. This ain't working.

Lucic needs to sit out a game or two or five.

If Lucic wasn’t being paid what he is, he wouldn’t be in the top 9 let alone playing with two of our best. He’s just a body out there.
