Not like that division is gonna be any better next year either, 8-9 might get it done again. A potential QB slate of Dalton, Darnold/Carroll, Ridder and Gabbert/Trask....just cancel the division.

That still doesn't guarantee anything, and it would lead to more difficult to balance schedules. Just don't guarantee a home game to division winners, easy and simple.

You said you don't want uncompetitive games in the WC round. My system would be more conducive to consistently competitive games in the WC round.
Of course there's no such thing as a system that guarantees competitive games every time.

I said I don't want the 7 seed. Both 7 seeds this year were badly outpayed, yet again, and the only reason the Dolphins came close to winning was the Bills trying to concoct the worst choke job ever. You advocated adding more teams, which would only make things worse. Go back to six teams, no guaranteed home game for division winners, basically perfect.
