Nope. He was forced to make a great tow save and then had Backlund draped all over him. That wasn’t a flop by any means.

But I get it. Any goal is on him.

Somehow the Flames poor play is on him too.
It's too much to ask for him to seal off the post on the side of the net where the puck is?

The bar for Markstrom is unbelievable low.

All the Markstrom haters will come out which is understandable. I am pro Vladar but would love Markstrom to still be the number one. However even if Vladar plays like #### and you win you should keep playing the goalie that gives you the most wins.

Watch Backlund track. Minimal to no effort…his man gets the free whack and goal.

That is a completely average save if he's in position.

Look who shows up when they're losing, very on-brand.

Opposite - the bar is unbelievably high. Any goal is on him and no, it was impossible for him to keep his foot on the post at that angle. Once you are in the splits like that, you are immobile. You need defenders to help you. And they didn’t.

Good lord. The pass was going cross crease to the slot, which is where he was positioning. It took a crazy bounce which he saved. But his movement to cover the pass took him off the post and then Backlund was practically laying on him.
