OK so the whole "I'm aware of my prejudices" thing only works if you're going to follow it with something other than "and I'm pretty okay with them on the whole".

Being consciously prejudiced isn't actually better than being unaware of it, necessarily... For example, and not that I'm suggesting you're a KKK member or anything, but they are also very aware of their own suspicions of the races they're suspicious of and happy to share their "take" on it, but their lack of naivete and openness in that area is not something they should be getting credit for.

No you're not.
All you've done is try to justify why your racist with terrible reasoning, and then doubled down by essentially saying "But aren't THEY the ones that are actually being racist"

Trying to not be racist, or just generally do better, doesn't involve justifying your behavior, while also shifting the blame onto others (specifically the ones you're saying racist crap about). If you were actually trying not to be a racist dick you wouldn't be trying to explain to us why it's okay that you feel that way.

I think that there is nothing the UCP could say or do that would make them lose an election in Alberta. The only way they lose is if centrist party members get tired of the social conservatives and split.
