Yes but, getting a game winning TD on the final drive is a low-percentage proposition considering you can only play 3-down football (saving 4th down for a FG kick) and are limited in how aggressive you can be once you get into FG range.

Perhaps there's a good case to be made for going for a 1 pt convert, but I still think going for 2 is the right call when you have the ball at the 1 yd line.

We really need the Chargers in a Super Bowl, probably lose on a 99 yard lateral play that takes five minutes to score.

More likely to be 109 yard return on a Chargers FG attempt to win the game.

That was cool. I hate NFL football, I've tried many times over the years to get into it and just can't. Decided to give it one more go for playoffs and watched the the second half the Jaguars and Chargers. That was amazing, so much fun!

Will be watching the games tomorrow too, now.

A pick six up by 5 points and the ball at the opposition 1 yard line on the last play of the game when taking a knee would have sealed the deal.

Had to work so just got caught up on the game. Love that Doug Pederson coaches to win. The Jags have been a really fun team to watch this year.

I don't know if you can pin it on one play that caused that collapse to happen, and given the Chargers nature it probably wouldn't have changed the end result, but the collapse started on that idiotic end around call on 3rd and inches with three minutes left in the first half. A simple QB sneak and you pick up the first, and maybe you bleed the clock out or run enough off that the Jags only end up with a FG. Instead they march down, get that first TD and at that point it felt close to a given the Chargers were going to lose. Says it all about the Chargers that at 27-7 up you could feel the loss coming.

Disappointed the Hawks lost, but it wasn't unexpected. Leading going into the half gave me a bit of hope, but not to be. This season was one big bonus really. Bring on the draft.

That said, no one will really be talking about it since the late game will be talked about for the next decade.

Really the Chargers didn't earn that 27-0 lead as the officials were doing their best NHL game management impression letting Samuel Jr. essentially maul Jaguar receivers. It would have been a bit of an injustice if the Chargers won the game given all the pass interference they were allowed to get away with. Pretty terrible game from the officials yet the Jaguars still managed to overcome it. There's something about Pederson in the playoffs.

The coverage was tight and the routes were bad.

They made changes to get guys in better spots.

The defensive game plan wasn't actually bad by the Chargers in the first half but they didn't adjust I guess that's how you charger?

Yeah that started a chain of things. Reminded me of last year's AFC Championship where the Chiefs throw short of the goal line and get nothing. Instead of a 28-10 lead and getting the ball back to start the next half the Bengals have a shot. Last night was the same thing poorly executed play that loses a pile of yards and gives Jacksonville a short field. They give up a TD. Do nothing on their opening possession, and it's a 13 point game.

Herbert's throws at the goal line were pretty bad. He won't throw interceptions, but you need Mike Williams to have a shot to pull in these balls that are 10 feet high as they sail thru the end zone at full speed. No touch on any of those at all.

Yeah this needs to be a touchdown. Herbert has arm talent that might even be better than Mahomes in terms of pure raw ability, but he still lacks consistent accuracy. It's also amazing for a 6'6" guy how many batted balls he has. It's another reason why getting a Payton or top offensive coach is essential for them, there is still levels of Herbert's game that can be unlocked.

Herbert might be the most over hyped QB.

He has arm talent but his mechanics suck. He doesn't have the ability of a Mahomes to get those throws off because he tries to rifle everything through instead of putting some touch on passes.

NFL wild card week continues to deliver. That was one of the nicest TD catches in recent memory.

Ball right back to the Bills. We might see another 27-0 lead but this time no comeback.
