I mean Lucic was the guy causing chaos in front of Wedgewood on Lewis’ goal.

Now that we have tried Zadorov on the PP you have to think eventually even a guy like Weegar will get a chance.

That goal was a bad bounce.

But you make a change to pp1 by tossing out Lucic and Zadorov is puzzling but not surprising with Sutter.

But yes silly to blame Lucic it’s the guy who put him and Zadorov on the top unit who’s fault it is
I think the point is more that the PP coach is making just stupid decisions. You want to change up the PP? Don't do it after the current PP is 1/1 and against a team with 5 shorthanded goals. Maybe do it in a practice so the players are ready for the game.

Just plain stupid.

Yeah, I completely agree. He just wasnt focused, made two consecutive mistakes and the puck ends up in the back of our net.

If anything its likely because players have a tendency to be a little lax defensively when the team is on the powerplay because you're supposed to have control and Zadorov isnt all that used to it as he doesnt get a lot of PP time.

He is better than that. He just wasnt right then.

Can't be too upset with a 2-1 lead on the road. Still not playing their best hockey, maybe they'll take baby steps in the All Star break. I know Lewis scored with a couple seconds left on a PP but man, it didn't look very good, especially the first unit.

I don’t blame Zadorov too much on that shorty, the puck rolls up on its edge tight to the boards at the same time he’s skating by to scoop it up. That was a bad bounce, and then for the scramble 1 second later to end up on a Dallas stick was another bad bounce. 9 times out of 10 Zadorov puts his massive frame on the right side of the puck and separates the opponent from getting it.

The stupid part is making that change in period 1 when up 2-0 against a team that has 5 shorthanded goals. Setting yourself up for failure. Wish we had real media that could ask them wtf they were thinking after the game.

Frustrating season, and the coaching staff is making dumb mistakes as well.

One of the worst starting goalies in the league and a coach who overplays him will do that to you.

Just seemed like a bunch of bad bounces rolled up into one. Worst one was the puck rolling right up against the boards so Zad missed it. Bad luck.

Regardless of how that last goal went down I’d be ok with Zadorov getting some looks on PP2, he’s shown all season he’s hungry and is very good at rushing the puck through the neutral zone and gaining the blueline.

I just don't think up 2-0 in the first period of a road game, against a very dangerous shorthanded team, is when you randomly get the lightbulb moment to put Zadorov and Lucic out.

It is a bit of a cause and effect thing. Put players on the ice that don’t belong on a power play and not a lot of good can come from it. Bad bounces for sure but likely doesn’t happen with a power play specialist in Zadorov’s place.

The guy setting up he pass for the 2nd goal from the point sits and watches as our PP fumbles around game after game but sure let's try Lucic and Zadorov on the top unit.

No it was a bad bounce and a bad play
Nothing more nothing less
It was a basic pick retrieval that Zad has done probably thousands of times

Zadorov has been awesome this year. And there was like 20 seconds left in the penalty. Very common this season to have a regular line out there near the end of a PP, happens all the time.
