I hate jumping into conspiracy theories but this is all starting to stink.
In no particular order...
Tre drafting smaller players
Smaller players called up, Darryl refuses to play them.
Sutter says players haven't had enough practice time. Throws Duehr & Zohorna in with limited practices. Gives them plenty of minutes. Throws Phillips in after weeks of practice. Limited minutes. Some PP time. Rather uncreative linemates 5v5. Sorry Lewis. Still hasn't played Pelletier.
Darryl's hiring thought to be more an ownership call than a Treliving one. Tre carries the mail in interviews afterwards none the less. Says its was his call.
Darryl given an extension following a great year, Jack Adams award. Treliving has no extension as of yet.
I think Salim is right (like he was with his oddly specific correct predictions of the Flames signings in the summer of 2021). Treliving isn't coming back. Darryl will get the GM that will basically carry out what he wants. Our smaller prospects will be probably be moved. Including Coronato.
Also, our pets heads are falling off.

There is no 3 on 3 in the playoffs.
Only 10 teams have fewer regulation losses than the Flames, and only 3 of those are in the west (DAL, SEA and VGS).
As bad as the season has been to date, the Flames just aren't that far off. And there is a reason that GMs and analysts around the league, continually say they wouldn't want to paly the Flames in the playoffs.

I don't think that even the Flames are dumb enough to hire Sutter back as GM. With that thought in mind...I think my Bruins jersey is in storage?

So many players on this team that can play much better. Kadri's defensive game the last 25 minutes of last game was abysmal. Ditto for Rasmus, who was a mess on 2 of the Blues goals. Don't remember Lindholm playing. All 5 skaters on the disallowed goal were a tire fire in their own end, luckily it was called back. Many others who need to get it going offensively.
All that and they lost in OT. If some of those guys clean their game up tonight they should be. Should be ok. Glad the beer fridge is full, I'll probably need it.

No I mean he'll have a say in them hiring a GM who basically just be his yes man.
Mike Futa is my bet. Was the AGM in L.A. when they won their cups. Now pro scouts, well, "consults" for the Canes.

Woukd you agree it's a lot harder to be thrown directly into a top 6 role versus coming in as a 4th line grinder? And that maybe that is why they would need more practice time before being thrown to the wolves? I would be more concerned about a "conspiracy" if Sutter was going Oilers style and throwing skilled players into a top 6 role with no practice as that usually never succeeds. This is in no way me saying I dont want to see Phillips. I hope he gets in when the time is right and grabs a spot.
Anyway the earth will roll on no matter.
Flames will continue how they played in the second last game but without a goalie giving the momentum away and come away with a resounding win. Go Flames!

Might come down to how long Darryl wants to coach. How long it takes to finish the business.

Ask literally any other team thats done it.
Also Mangiapane started life as a Flame on the 4L. Albeit without Lewis or Lucic. But maybe Pelletier, given some actual time, might make it work just fine. Phllips could have too but, he wasn't on the ice a ton in that role.
But yes, for tonight, Vladar in net. I do feel more confident. Hopefully they do too.

Vladar in but Pelletier not is a message from Sutter to the team. Prove it was Markstrom and not you guys who sucked. Can't lose two in a row to this team, you have a 2nd chance, now win.
Pelletier will get in the next game.

Against a super tough Dallas squad? I doubt it.

This is getting ridiculous.
This trend of not playing young players is also not going to help with the Coronato signing. Why sign with the Flames when you’re going to rot in the minors for 3+ years, when you can just wait 2 years and sign with whoever you want?
