Free Bahamas Cruise For Two Enclosed!

Ok so what fun should I do with this?

Just get the mail, an envelope from "Imperial Majesty Cruise Vacations: Records Division" tells me that there is a "Free Bahamas Cruise for Two Enclosed".

Open it up, and its kind of this ticket thingie...I have to call the 1-800 umber...and I am approved for 1 free curise for 2 adults (mind you I have to pay port charges and government taxes ) and a travel voucher in the amount of $1,300.00. Oh boy, lucky me .Apparently its some "familiarization" tour. Apparently I get nights at Ramada Plaza hotels, a private fancy cruise room, and an alamo car rental with - get this - unlimited mileage! A travel credit voucher and a free cruise voucher. Woo....lucky me...

Ha, anyways, any ideas what I should do with it? Phone and pretend to be interested, and see what happens? Mail it back in a funny way? Etc?

I mean, come on, all I have to do is phone a 1-800 #....

Call them back and get all the information that you can and re iterate it back to them after every point in about 20 different ways. Talk reall slowly with a stutter and see how long you can keep her on the phone.

Let her get close to making the sale, and then tell her in a sad voice that your scared of water because the monsters live there.

Usually I would just toss these things in the garbage, but thought that I might have a little fun with this one....

Put the phone down and walk away. It's better if your phone has a light to see how long they wait.

I once had a guy call back 3 times - and wait at least an hour in total. If you call them, there's no telling how many times you can call.

Be careful with this one....I've heard of scams like this where you call a "free line" and it's actually billing your phone line $10/minute.

Call it from a payphone and see what happens.

I guess its not that good of an idea to tell them to hold, or stutter.

Oh yeah, definately a payphone. No doubts about that. Even if its not one of those charge your number scams, I really don't want to risk the chance of them having my number anyways in the 1st place.

I like the idea of messing with them but make sure it doesn't cost too much money or it won't be worth it. There are some great sites out there dedicated to messing around with and having fun on behalf of spammers be it email or snail mail. Check them out for some funny ideas.

I read one story about 5 years ago of a person who recieved a bill for $0.00 and kept recieving payment reminders so he sent off a cheque for $0.00 as a joke and it crashed the system at the bank. I cannot remember the full story but i think he got sued, he counter sued and eventually made money by appearing on tv chat shows. Look up that one for inspiration.

If you know anyone with a two year old, call the travel company and put the toddler on the phone. I do this at home all the time and it works really well.
