Vladar and Wolf or some other tandem with a much smaller cap hit would allow the Flames to have another top 6 forward that could score. Given Markstrom's weak play that strategy would have improved our goal differential - and probably by a lot.

I missed the 3rd till this point, did CP meltdown after 20 seconds?

Anyways, I'm back now, so a Flames goal is incoming.

Pretty nifty play by Coleman there. Now go do something like that in the offensive zone.

Might as well abandon the system and start trading chances of your goalie is going to deflate the team after being pulled the game before.

The teams response after the two goals hasnt been good.

But both of those goals were soft by Markstrom and hes he reason it's 3-3. Just threw all momentum away like he has countless times this season.

I disliked the rebound goal a lot more than the third. Andersson couldn’t have timed that screen better if he tried. Still should likely be stopped just by position but I think goalies expect to look around an opposing player than their own guy.

I do credit the last two big saves after the offside reprieve. Arguably got the momentum back.

Either that or 3 out 4 points to start the roadtrip.

Well...thats just not accurate. He had nothing to do with the first goal, he couldnt have stopped that.

The second goal was on him, and the third goal I think he should have saved, but its not like he did anything insane.

The problem really is that he is so shaky back there his defencemen are overplaying everything because they have no confidence in him.

It has been a rough two games for him after a decent stretch. Gets pulled against Chicago and then lets in softies again tonight. He was bad at the start of the season as well.

this team has to learn how to score goals in the third frame

closing games out in regulation usually requires it

You’re playing an AHL defense here Flames. Go get a goal.
