I wasn't on the Domi train before, but after tonight, heck yeah. He was making stuff happen almost every shift he was on, was clutch, and stood up for his teammate.

Assuming Zahorna is scratch next game, maybe we can get:
Huberdeau - Kadri - Dube
Ruzicka - Lindholm - Toffoli
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Lucic - Lewis - Pelettier

Yeah I don’t tune into that. Dube is replaced by Pelt before the end of march.

I don’t mind Domi. He’s not that expensive either.

Can't stand Domi and he's been passed around the league a bit it seems.
Always want to be careful those types of players which put a bunch of numbers on a team tanking.

Off-season: Unload Markstrom to a team in need of goalie, promote Vladar to starter and promote Wolf to back-up.
With the way the season has been going (Markstrom mediocre, Vladar superb, Wolf #1 AHL goalie), and salary cap implications for 2023-2024 season, I just have a hunch that this might happen.

It would be nice if it happened, but there's no way Markstrom gets traded. Not with his NMC, contract, etc. Flames management never makes these kinds of moves.
As such, I don't see Wolf playing NHL minutes barring injuries, unfortunately.
If anything, I think it's more likely that the team trades Vladar if Wolf somehow forces himself into the NHL.

I think trading Vladar would be a huge mistake.

Yah, I watch zero Hawks games so don't know if that was a typical Domi game. He sure was on fire last night though.

I don't think the Flames have a shot this year. I hope they make zero moves at the deadline (unless they sell).

But we all know those thirds and fourths burn a hole in Trelivings pocket, his desire for number 6-8 defencemen

We signed plenty of those players in the off season there is zero need to make those trades this year.

I think there is a gap in terms of having a #6. Stone is a 7. And then after him I think they have enough with Gilbert, Mackey, etc.
But Stone is over his head.
It's addressed if Kylington comes back. If he doesn't I think they need to bring in someone to take that regular load.

I don't know about that. On paper the Flames have one of the deepest blue lines in the league. It's just that Sutter doesn't shelter the bottom pairing like most coaches so the bottom pairing gets exposed at times. I've just got tired of attention to the defense this team has received over the years given the lack of a talented wingers in the top 6.

He gets significant less TOI than any other dman. I think he's at about 11 minutes per game so Sutter already is managing it. But when he's out there he's often exposed and overmatched.
I also don't think the cost to acquire a 6th dman is anywhere equivalent to acquiring a top 6 winger.
