The answer, as it typically does, lies somewhere in the middle.

High-dangers at ES ended in a 12-12 tie. Wouldn't say the Flames got their, ahem, clocks cleaned by any means. But you'd also hope for better against Chicago.

12-12 in HDCs at 5v5 according to NST. Teams were also even in xG 5v5 despite the large difference in shots.

Not outchanced but we didn't dominate at the level the shot clock would have you believe either.

So you think we took it to them in terms of high danger plays?

Lol. Read this to yourself again. A disaster? You can’t run a business or hockey team hitting the panic button every time things go wrong.

Because it’s one game of 82
But call it a disaster if you want

3rd is tough to fault a goalie on a 2-1 but Kurashev shoots that back across the net, so if Markstrom actually tries he migth save it
It seems disingenuous to call out Markstom's rebound control on a single instance when comparing him to Vladar. That's an area that Markstrom looks far superior to Vladar and a good reason why Vladar isn't starting every night.

It's one game in the middle of the season in January where the Flames got a point?

Vladdy sure. But the team didn't even practice today and Pelts and Duher were at an optional skate. How do you expect Sutter to slot him in without him getting any practice time with the team?

This is true, but thankfully Zamler isn't running the team. He's providing all the great Yanet content and other fun stuff.
It takes all types to make the world run after all.

Played down to their level. Still essentially a tie game, sucks to leave a point on the table. Hanifin ha become a very frustrating player to watch in key moments.

Huberdeau is looking more and more at ease with this team. I think it’s time to reunite him with Lindholm and consider putting him with Mangiapane.

He needs to play with guys who are able to finish. Kadri and Lucic aren’t finishers.

Where did I say any of that? You're losing it.

THIS GAME was a disaster.
