Also looking at the box on this game.... both Oiler's goals on the power play, this team sucks 5 on 5 for a team - it you listen to the commentators - that is supposedly so good offensively.

Even despite all the Avs injuries, this was men against boys. Oilers had no business being in this game. Saved by the PowerPlay, yet again. Salvaged an undeserved point.

Three point game sucks, but (c)Oiler losses are the absolute best!

Evander Kane was 5th in points for the Oilers forwards with 13 points when he was injured. He hasn't played in 27 games. He is still 5th in points for Oilers forwards.

I don't think there's any proof required that they are a terrible defensive team. They try and get opponents to play their style and that's the only way they can win.

Forcing myself to listen to the McDavid CBC/Oilers joint production, in his own words he's focused on points more and individual stats with him and Draisital and tells Bedard to basically do the same when he enters the league.

it's really too bad the pp is automatic despite the fact that it flows predictably through the same McDavid individual plays or draisaitl one timers

Their PP is ridiculous right now but I fully expect some regression. They may still set the record but they’re something like 42% over the last 25 games. Just asinine numbers. And that’s because they’re getting a ton of puck luck. Look at the 2 goals tonight. One was off a broken play and Nothing Happens was running crazy interference on the defender. The 2nd was a bonkers carom right to Hyman. For all the hoopla and crossovers they really do get the bounces. When the averages start to level out again they will be in even more trouble. I say more trouble because theyre currently 20th OA in Points percentage with unsustainable PP and shooting percentages carrying them there.
