We're not in that kind of company. Those teams are largely old because their cores have proven they can win together.

Pittsburgh has three Cups and a cup finals appearance.

Washington has a Cup.

Boston has a Cup and two more Cuo Finals appearance

Tampa has a pair of cupsa a couple more Cup finals appearances, and even more conference finals on top of that.

Carolina has a couple of conference finals as well, and has a young star-studded actual core (Aho, Necas, Svechnikov) surrounded by vets at more secondary positions. And even then, they don't have major long term commitments to their older guys, they can probably retool in a couple years and replace the Brent Burns types with younger pieces

How's Duclair's injury recovery? Not sure I've seen anything recently

Scoring winger with speed you say....looks at Jakob Pelletier and Matthew Phillips sitting there on the farm.

And I have no issue with trading to fill that role but in the interim I'd just rather give one of these guys that opporunity instead of Milan Lucic.

I think Duclair would be a nice fit, but as was mentioned previously not 100% sure of his injury status

Duclair would be a great snag IMO. Not crazy about Domi or Anthansiou personally.

Not that Phillips was given much of a shot, but he also didn't wow or blow the doors off. I would give Pelletier a shot before phillips again. Yeah it sucks but phillips posted nothing at all except a minor penalty in 2 nhl games.

Given he hasn't played in so long and the Flames, like last year, will want to get someone in prior to the deadline I can't see Duclair being an option.

I read that Domi loves it in Chicago and may have found a home. A big no to him anyways.

Hard to blow the doors off when you are getting true 4th line minutes and not the Sutter 4th line minutes in your two games.

I question bringing in a player that has missed half the season and throwing him into a new system. We have seen last season and this season how it takes players time to adjust not even taking into account someone who has missed half the season. Love the player, but I think I would pass on him at this point with pretty much all of us coming into this season with expectations that have already not been met to this point.

I still think this team is lacking speed in general. Would be nice to have grit for the playoffs while rolling out two lines with speed to generate scoring chances but at this point it’s a grind it out identity.

Teams that have a lot of older short term contracts of players filling out their rosters may increase their over all age, but it's really not a concern.

Hopefully not, that contract is terrible

I'd be a fan of checking in on Tanner Jeannot in Nashville. I think he is having a down year as I think they dropped him down in lines but the man was untouchable last year with all he brings to the table. He is affordable and an RFA next year which could be an affordable signing and possibly replace Lucic's grit next year. I don't think Nashville is going to make the playoffs this year and if they miss, look for them to shake things up.

I like Duclair a lot but I think he'd suffer conditioning issues which, as an add on you don't want. we saw it with Toffoli last year and he wasn't coming off an injury.

It wasn't and I do agree on Duclair...its a massive risk

who knows if he ever gets up to speed this season. If it didn't cost much you think about it but Florida is probably looking to salvage this absolute disaster of a season with no first.
