Default Would you Boo Gaudreau or Cheer Gaudreau on Jan 23rd?

Mods, please add a poll.

If you were in attendance when Gaudreau returns to the dome on Jan 23rd, would you boo or cheer him?

I would absolutely cheer Gaudreau because he carried the Flames for the past 8 years. I remember his game-tying goal against the Ducks in 2015 and of course his series clinching goal against the Stars this past spring. Sure, we didn't get anything for him as he left the Flames abruptly, but considering he was a stab in the dark in the 4th round as an undersized player, I think we got a lot.

Dude was one of the few reasons to be excited about the team while it was rebuilding. Easily one of the most exciting players in the league, and probably most exciting in Flames history. A great story of a player overcoming all odds to become a superstar. His parents were legendary around these parts. He finally got us over the 1st round hump last season. I will probably be one of the few who won't boo him.

I wish his tenure didn't end how it did, and I wish he was still a Flame. But it is what it is; a business after all.

If it gets him off his game, sure I guess I'll boo then. But doing it out of spite or anger just isn't something I can bring myself to do. He was an awesome player while he was here, a good ambassador for the team, and brought excitement to the team (most of the time) night in and night out.

I hope Huberdeau scores an early goal in the game and a big "JONNY!" chant breaks out.

Booing, I didn't like the way he left, it's his decision just didn't like how he held up the team like that. Nothing makes real sense about it, it's his right to leave and my right to boo his butt back to Columbus.

Really hope in 15 years he doesn't become a Forever Flame, but this organization probably will.

Johnny is a good guy who means well. Ill cheer him loud and proud. He gave the city and fans many good memories.

Am I sad he left? Yes.

But, life's too short to harbor petty grudges. He'll always have a special place in my heart as one of the most electrifying players in Calgary sports entertainment. Thank you for the memories Johnny!

It’s not petty. It’s fun. And it’s just sport. I haven’t given Johnny more than 30s of thought since the season started.

But I can’t wait to taunt and boo him until my throat is sore.

Its also not like he played hard or entertained us for free or because he wanted to

Flames happened to draft him so he played here and was compensated with over 50M for playing a kids game. There were also more memories of choking over his time here followed by a big FU on the way out.

Whoever buys a ticket can do whatever you want but nobody will hear any cheering over all the boos. I think some CP hard cores are major Gaudreau fans but in the general population he is public enemy #1 from conversations I have had. This will be booing like the dome has never heard before IMO.

and really its all in good fun...when someone bails on the team we shouldn't just be happy they played here at all lol. I'm with Brad, its a privilege to play in Calgary and for the Flames...Whole league was mocking us after these two top players bailed, won't be cheering that they were forced to play here for a while.

Someone in the old thread suggested a lengthy Gudbranson tribute video and then a quick “oh ya, thanks Johnny also” at the end.
