In a bus requisitioned by your employer who demanded you to board it by a certain time.

Then again, pretty sure flight attendants don't start getting paid until they aboard the plane, so maybe the players just need to wear sexy scarves?

Fine is more than fair.
Why would they fly to Toronto first?

That’s a longer flight than Calgary to St Louis.

They wouldn't fly to Toronto because they live in Toronto?

Would be interesting to compare the one vs two ref system now that it's been around for ~20ish years. Couldn't be much worse i imagine.

As with most things Lowe did as GM, just copying Slats...done likely by Slats in the 80s to make sure Semenko, Anderson and crew weren't in jail and could sweat the various intoxicants out of their systems.

It isn't even close. The CHL officiating is terrible in comparison to the NHL.

You don't need to make ##### up to get your point across. We all agree that the NHL officiating is terrible. It's a hockey thing, not an NHL thing.

I am not making anything up, I watch a bunch of CHL hockey. Maybe you should see an optometrist. Game management and certain team bias is absolutely an NHL thing. Not sure if you were being serious or just trolling considering who thanked your post there.

I have nothing to contribute to anything on CP except to stir the pot. A historical account of PepsiFree posts.

Weren’t you the one who said he locks his kid away during playoff games? Apologies if I’ve mistaken you for someone else, friend.

I don't know why the NHL has a christmas break. NFL and NBA have games on Christmas eve and Christmas Day and those are some of the best memories of the year for the whole family.

Is this sarcasm? I think it’s sarcasm. It has to be sarcasm. It’s sarcasm.

It might work in some markets, but in most markets, the NHL doesn't have the kind of gravity to pull that off I think.

That can't be true can it? They're hourly employees, I can't see any world where they're required to put in an 8-12 hour day but only get paid for the 4-5 hours they're actually on a plane.

It is unfortunately true. They only get paid for the time of the flight and they don't get compensated for any delays.

They only get paid from wheels up to wheels down. They don't get paid for any time spent on the ground and its total garbage.

It's crazy considering the mandatory hoops they have to jump through to get to their workplace (security, sometimes customs, and airports are generally off the beaten track to begin with). Of course getting lodging and presumably some food stipend is a counter-balance. It's probably not a good bang for your buck money wise, but obviously the total perks/compensation are enough to get people to do the job.
