When you’re outscoring your second ranked teammate in points 34 to 22, that means you have no help. It’s actually pretty remarkable that Gaudreau is actually over a ppg with what he has to work with. Needless to say, he would own a much better stat line this season if he was still a Flame.
|
It was said Toffoli and Lindholm are "okay" but if we had a real sniper like Gaudreau we would have 5 more wins.
I think pointing out both guys have more goals than Gaudreau is fair.
He also chose that bad team for less money.

They are probably also viewing him as a trade deadline chip, so if he comes back and is productive, they can maximize that return.

Yes, then they can complete the tank after the trade deadline

Huberdeau was also great last year...115 points
Likely a career high for both guys, can't expect them to do it every season

this poster ONLY posts on CP in the former players thread and nowhere else hockey related for months on end and then tells me to get over it!

That's kind of funny. A quick search of Fire on Ice for posts by me and anyone can see that's a blatantly untrue statement.
Moving from misrepresenting posts to just making things up is certainly doubling down on an emotionally immature and toxic posting style.
How about you stop that, and we both let this go?

I would love it if Monahan got traded to a contender and got a decent playoff run in. With the consistency of him getting injured he seems like a player that may not have a long career left ahead of him, but he's a guy that's hard not to like. I would gladly cheer for him in the playoffs if he gets a good shot.

haha...you saw that I posted that yesterday and then made sure you posted in an actual current Flames hockey thread for the first time in a while so you could come back and post this today
It was just an observation, I did a quick look and your first 3 pages of history and it was all former flames thread, twitter, and Tkachuk trade
post however you like, again just an observation...you say I am obsessed with former players and its nearly all you talk about
I like how you say lets both let it go while calling me toxic and immature lol
if you want to let it go then let it go

Except you’ve been all over his performance throughout this thread talking about his goals, points, +/- and etc. Plus, who’s to say he wouldn’t be leading the team in goals anyway? Johnny never played with a passer like Huberdeau his entire career here, maybe he’d be on pace for 50.
Lastly, he chose Columbus for family reasons, not hockey reasons. His family was the priority. Most husbands would include their pregnant wife’s opinions on the decision making, so that’s fair. Yeah he took less money to do it, but it looks like he’s still gonna end up with $100M+ once his career is over, so I don’t think he’ll be fretting over that too hard.

Can’t take anything Tkachuk says at face value. He’s always going to pump up the city and team he’s on
Remember how he said he “fell in love” with Calgary at his garbage day press conference

Reality is likely somewhere in the middle. Tkachuk was likely not tight with an otherwise tight Flames locker room. Considering he was regularly getting chastised by his teammates on the ice and pouting about it. He's now getting the same treatment from guys like Ekblad in Florida.

remember what Tkachuk's current coach said about him a couple years ago lol
he is a top 3 hated player in the NHL...he was suspended this season poking a goalie in the eye with his stick. There is zero doubt that some of his team mates past and present aren't big fans if they are being honest with themselves. Gio wasn't a big fan of his antics
this interview was early in the season too...I doubt he would be bringing up chemistry now when the team that brought him in to get past round 2 is 10 points out of a wildcard

Is it factual that he was regularly chastised by his teammates and that he pouted as a result? Or is this your own interpretation? I don't follow the Panthers but is Ekblad now doing the same to Tkachuk? Or is this your own speculation?
Despite me not being pleased with Chuck's shot, I'm still not going to throw ex-Flames under the bus after they leave....

I don't know about regularly but we know Gio wasn't a huge fan of some of his antics...this isn't a since he left thing
no idea about the Panthers stuff

Anyone can check the receipts on my posting, and can check what you wrote, and will see they don't match.
But, I guess you don't want to stop with that stuff and let it go. Not totally surprising, but kind of sad. Your choice to keep letting your colours shine through for others to see. Hopefully you get over/through whatever makes you want to be that way.

Suggestion, Try debating the topic not the person. No need for the petty banter back and forth. You are right everyone can see your posts and right now you are both acting like kids.Surely you are better than that, lets get back on topic and keep things positive. There are a lot of people who come to the "former player performance thread" wondering if they clicked on the right link.

I'll agree, it has been a childish exchange and it would have been better had I not allowed myself to be pulled into. I've said what I had to say and am done with it now though, and I will gladly, gladly go back to just talking about former flames in this thread. Apologies to all who've been bothered with it over the last couple of days.

Tkachuk with 2+2 in a Panthers blowout against the Habs. I’m sure he’s happy to have Barkov back, as 3 of his points came on the PP (Barkov himself had a hatty).
Gaudreau assisted on the only Columbus goal in a 2–1 regulation loss against NYI.
