They didn't want to be on your team anymore and chose other futures based on stuff that was more important to them than what being on the Flames and staying in Calgary offered. Such is life.

Calling people losers, saying you hate them, calling things stupid, misrepresenting other people's words, it's is all just emotionally immature and toxic. Get over it. Move on.

32 shots in 10 games suggests that the goals will come.

It's when the shots start decreasing that you need to worry.

who did I call a loser? its a kids game..."hating" a player is part of what makes it fun...I "hate" McDrai, Nurse, and Kane as hockey players too

that okay? you have an irrational love for them because they happened to be drafted here, its the same thing...sports are kinda dumb. There is a reason Gaudreau will be booed when he comes back but its not like anyone is wishing him personal harm. Those two are definitely villain's for me now, I look forward to them missing the playoffs this season and hopefully cashing a couple bets I made about them and their teams.

Should we be watching these games hoping everyone does well and has fun? rooting for someone to win and someone to lose is the whole point.

I don't have any personal problem with any player or poster here, its just a game but I am passionate about it and will let my opinion be known

For crying out loud you don't even post about hockey at all on this site other than about former players, maybe telling me to "get over it" is a bit of the pot calling the kettle black here

Tkachuk is 10 points out of the playoffs on Dec 28th after hand picking 5 teams he would grace with his service

I'm not making them look like anything...they are both on bad teams, far worse than what the Flames would be if they stayed.

Sorry this is not the only positive news thread like you want it to be

Christ Gaudreau's plus minus will be around 90 goals worse this season if trends continue

didn't call anyone a loser at life or personally...surely you know the difference, in the context of sport you have winners and losers

this poster ONLY posts on CP in the former players thread and nowhere else hockey related for months on end and then tells me to get over it!

they showed it on the broadcast last night...were you guys even watching the game?
pace is based on games played not the date obviously

what now?
When you spread that out over a season it is 96pts vs 88pts based on the pace. You put goals for up there but what about goals against? This same flames team that was only 3 pts better had a +20 goal differential compared to the team who is even right now.

As much as you want to spin that last years team and this years team are close it is just not true. Our current team needs to go on an absolute dominating run to get in the same ballpark as last years team. I hope it happens

I said this in another thread but appropos here.

Flames desperately need a bona fide sniper.

Lindy, Toffoli, Backlund, Bread, Dube are what they are, which is fine.

JG still in the line up and we have 5 more wins on timely power play goals alone.

It's close after 36 games, last year's team went on a massive run. With last year's goaltending this team would be better at this point in the season. They also had zero injuries last season. You can call it my spin if you want Darryl said the same thing pre-game yesterday though.

End of the day the Flames need to win more than 5 playoff games to be improved....time will tell.

Lindholm and Toffoli have more goals than Gaudreau this season

If you took 10.5M out of the lineup and added Gaudreau I don't think they have 5 more wins.

Maybe Lucic/Mangi

Gaudreau last year was a massive upgrade to what Huberdeau has provided so far

I don’t think it makes any sense for you to continually compare Gaudreau’s stats to another team, especially when the Flames and Blue Jackets are in such different segments of their respective windows.

Sure, Gaudreau is on pace to finish -30+ this season, but have you seen their team? They just started rebuilding and have tons of youngsters in the lineup with no discernible depth.

When you’re outscoring your second ranked teammate in points 34 to 22, that means you have no help. It’s actually pretty remarkable that Gaudreau is actually over a ppg with what he has to work with. Needless to say, he would own a much better stat line this season if he was still a Flame.

Great Flame left the franchise in the worst possible position he could, other guy committed to the team and city for 9 years.

We all want the on ice production to be the same but regardless, one will get a lot more respect from many of the fan base and deserves it.

You're comparing the 2 like it was a 1 for 1 trade and the team could have had either.

Current savior?

Yes, Gaudreau was a "great Flames." But he went to CBJ to win hockey games. He doesn't play for Calgary anymore, and this thread is for the performances of former Flames.

Everybody knows he was a great Flame, genius. Do you think you're breaking news here?

The guy took less money and term to go play for a bottom dweller closer to home and there is nothing that can be done about it now so pointing out how great he was last year compared to how Huberdeau is playing this year is absolutely ####ing pointless, it's just you whining like a bitch as per usual.

Monahan has been out since Dec 5 with a broken foot. He is skating now

He has been decent in terms of production, with 17 points in 25 games, and I think the Habs are missing his on ice contribution and leadership

The Habs have fallen off a cliff and now lost 7 of their last 9. (wins against only Arizona and Calgary)

Honestly, I’m not sure how badly they want him back, depending how good a position they want to be in for the draft

They also have Florida’s pick next year, which is looking better than they probably expected so far. They play the Panthers tonight, and it is impossible for both teams to lose
