Turkey can be excellent and the turkey we had was decent actually. I prefer it smoked if I have a choice, but the dry brine worked quite well and we had a good cranberry sauce so it was solid. Lamb is just better.

Lamb tastes like wool.
Turkey spatchcocked, dry brined and smoked at 225 and finished at 350 is glorious.

Turkey is only good because of stuffing and I will die on that hill. I'd take most other large cuts of meat over a turkey any day. Ribs? Hell yeah. Pork shoulder roast? Absolutely. Lamb Shank? 100%

Our go-to meals for family gatherings are raclette or fondue, eat and drink and talk as long as you want.
Everything but lamb, my father raised sheep and I often wanted to kill them but never got the urge to eat the damned things.

One thing I always say to people who aren't big lamb fan's is to try it done the way the Greeks eat lamb, slow roasted, well done but still tender and juicy.
One thing I have found with people who haven't enjoyed lamb in the past is that they may have had a bad experience with a rare/med rare version of a lamb chop or a rack of lamb etc.
In my opinion, it doesn't taste good under cooked. It's not like beef. Just like how undercooked pork, salmon and chicken don't taste great.
Just an observation, and you may even surprise yourself!

People like beef generally because it’s so easy to prepare, but in a world where beef is increasingly unsustainable, it’s fun to explore how to properly prepare and serve other things. Lamb is delicious when slow roasted or braised.

Still good enough to enjoy it 1-2 times per year.

Roast chicken is my favourite meat if done properly - ie. dry brined and spatchcocked, which ensures the breast meat cooks in the same amount of time as the dark thighs and drums.

The only good thing about ham is the scalloped potatoes it often comes with.

Damn it, now I'm hungry again.
RGMG that all of our engineering is about draining precip from roads, but not really sidewalks...in fact the water has to go over the sidewalk to drain. But currently that means I have a glacier on my sidewalk.
