I have 2 fond memories of December 27th battles of Alberta. In 2014 I received the company seats for game and took my Dad. It was Johnny’s rookie year and the Flames were a surprise team while the Oilers were horrible. Johnny scored a couple and we crushed them 4-1. On December 27th 2019 I am with the same company and secure the seats from our Edmonton branch for the game at Rogers Place. My buddy and I drove up and I put my 4-0 record in Edmonton on the line however all previous games were at Rexall. I sat next to Darnell Nurses parents to watch the Flames win 5-1.
I have a good feeling about tonight although I won’t be in attendance

Yeah, Markstrom has been playing well, and deserves it on that metric. Also, he needs to prove that he can (or can't) play well against the Oilers, and this is the (only) time to test that.

I would hope they don't match the Lucic/Kadri/Huberdeau line up against McDavid. Hopefully the bulk of that responsibility is given to the Backlund unit.

Zero problem with Markstrom starting. He's played well lately.
And other than the whiff behind the net on the second goal which had nothing to do with who he was playing, he played well the last time he played them.

Go to warmup and have a poster that says something along the lines of: "I came from _____ for a Lindy autograph". or "All I want for xmas is a Lindy autograph" and have the kids hold them up at the glass around the Flames bench. I'd be surprised if they didn't get some sort of recognition.
