Just using 8 Ball’s definition of “100%” since he used it in response to pretty specific accident parameters. Could be any percentage if we want to start bringing up irrelevant events into it. Might as well mention falling boulders and earthquakes if you guys would rather argue nonsense instead of addressing the point.
But if we have any interest in staying on topic, I’m sure both of you are capable of understanding the point. If you rear end a stopped vehicle on the highway, regardless of the conditions, it’s your fault. If you couldn’t see, you should’ve gone slower. If you hit ice, you should’ve gone slower. This is simple stuff, and while “if a deer jumps from a forrest, is anybody around to hit it?” is an interesting point of view, it’s not relevant, and I doubt a police officer would entertain your philosophical ramblings.

Yes, my post that's 8 words long is a "philosophical ramble" but your much longer post moving the goalposts is not. Gotcha.

Yes, I’m confident you understand what that line meant and what “moving the goalposts” means. Excellent contribution and worth my time as always.

I am wondering what type of issues these weather related and flight cancellation scenarios may pose for travel insurance policies.
I have recently had to deal with some travel insurance claims for a few different items. Without getting into a long post, these are fairly simple, open and shut claim's but the insurance carriers have played nothing but hardball arguing nothing but nonsense garbage.
I can't imagine what type of losses some people may be incurring with everything that is happening and I am a firm believer there needs to be some serious reform with regards to travel insurance and insurance in general.

You brought up the 100% argument not me. And we are on topic. I mean, you have never been through a weather event when driving? Semi’s get blown over during wind events, totally avoidable. Avalanche, mudslide? Should have drove slower lol.

Bus accident on the Okanagan connecter last night, in that awful weather they're getting out that direction. Area has gone to Code Orange (mass casualty/major incident) - apparently, 53 patients divided amongst hospitals in Merritt, Penticton and Kelowna. Kamscan is reporting fatalities, but that's the only account I've seen that has. How awful.

100% the fault of the semi. They shouldn't be on road in southern Alberta, ever. It's a really windy place.

What? Like we literally shouldn't transport into or through southern Alberta?
edit: never mind, missed the exchange with Pepsi and the likely sarcasm.

Ridiculous statement, ever heard of freak accidents? From heart attacks, falling debris and rocks to wildlife, s_h_!_t happens!
The only way to 100% avoid an accident is to live in a bubble.
How about stopping provinces from giving licenses to untrained nitwits.

Agreed. Thankfully they banned all transport in Lethbridge years ago

It was definitely hyperbolic, but I was referring to vehicle on vehicle collisions in winter conditions. I agree, 100% still doesn’t account for freak accidents. I have, obviously, heard of heart attacks and such and just assumed people would give the benefit of the doubt instead of believing i actually meant a boulder falling on your car was your fault (I forgot Acey would be responding, who struggles understanding much).
I thought it was clear that my message was about people needing to drive appropriately for conditions and slow down, based on the context it was delivered in (clearly I was wrong about that being clear). And that pile-ups are generally the cause of speed that is excessive for the conditions. If you can’t stop in time or find yourself in 90+% accidents during the winter, that’s the result of a mistake, your’s or someone else’s. It doesn’t account for medical emergencies or wild animals and such, but the most common types of accidents you see in the winter are 100% avoidable with safer, smarter driving.
I don’t think that’s particularly controversial. Do you, now that I’ve clarified it?

2 others asked you to clarify what was a dubious statement, but I'm the idiot who doesn't understand much.
This is now a multi-day grudge for you on the internet, which is quite a long time. I'm sorry your life sucks.

I find some of your posts kind of interesting but sometimes you seem kind of daft.

Like I said before in this thread, once Pepsi gets invested in a topic there's little point in trying to reason or debate.
