I'm totally fine with seeing the Cowboys in the playoffs. Needed 4 turnovers and a 3rd and 30 to beat our backup QB at home.

You're an advanced stats guy, surely you are aware how much further ahead Mahomes is than Hurts in DYAR and DVOA right? Hurts being extremely valuable doesn't make him the most valuable. If there is a most valuable element to Hurts is that on his poverty contract he surely provides the most value relative to cost in the league. Be interesting to see how good the Eagles are when Hurts is on $50 million a season and not $1.6 million.

But the Chiefs are a 6 win team with a replacement level QB, even in the Andy Reid scheme. The Eagles might be a 10 win team with Minshew, who is, well, replacement level.

You have to give it to Mahomes and Reid. That offense is Kelse and a bunch of castoffs on offense that has no business being anywhere near the top offense in the league yet they are. I don't want to get too much in the MVP debate but the Eagles are stacked team as they just put over 30 points with Minshew at QB. The Chiefs without Mahomes would have a tough time scoring 20 points on most teams.

I'm not saying Mahomes isn't a/the MVP. I'm saying the "Hurts is a system QB" takes are dumb as hell.

The "Mahomes is a system QB" narrative was just as dumb.

I think Mahomes is phenomenal. Best QB in the league, regardless of system.

In general I don't think it's been too many "system QB" takes, more of "his team is really, really good" takes. They might have the best overall roster in the league. He's been outstanding, and unlike if Tua had won MVP I won't find any issue with Hurts as MVP. I just think the Chiefs are like the Packers under Rodgers, and to a lesser extent the Colts under Manning: A mediocre team carried by insanely elite QB play.

Well if there's any good news for Raiders fans is they didn't sneak into the playoffs and trick themselves into more of Carr as the QB. Wouldn't be shocked to see Brady and Gronk in Vegas next year.

Lol. This is the Raiders we're talking about. They're getting Jimmy G and Eric Ebron.

I was thinking Carson Wentz and Logan Thomas. But yours works.

those meaningless wins piss me off to no ends. Sure, chalk it up to being a nice win for Franco, but that offense is more of an insult than a tribute. Hats off to the Raiders for being even worse I guess.
I so badly want to see it with Pickett, but I just don't. Erratic when the pocket isn't super clean (and with this OL, especially the bad left side, it rarely ever is), and he just can't get past his first read. Terrible pick and should be at least another (Robertson narrowly missed the pick 6 at the end of the 1st quarter). I just see nothing that would suggest that he will ever be a top 10 starter in this league. Steelers will have to go back to the well in 24 or so.

I'm optimistic about Pickett. He is young and it seems like he is capable of learning so I expect that next season will be better. There has already been a lot of growth in his game throughout this season. I'd like to dump Mitch ASAP and bring in a backup that can actually teach/lead Pickett in a good way and Mitch is trash. I hope Pickett is learning nothing from Mitch because that will make him better.
