Massive pileup on the 401, near London. 100 cars affected. Unsure if fatalities occurred, but I assume so.

Well then. That’s a video of a guy dying. Why the hell was that semi going so fast?

Semis were flying down the 2 from Edmonton last night. We did about 80-90kph the whole way, but there were cars going 130 and semis almost as fast. People are duuuuuumb.

Fortunately I don't think anyone died this time, the driver of the semi is like far too many "professional" drivers these days. Untrained idiots who basically bought their licence rather than earned it, another problem is trucking company's paying drivers per mile driven rather than per hour which pushes drivers to drive hard and reckless.

I believe this is the end result of the crash, apparently the suv driver is ok.
Spoiler!

It doesn’t look like he was going recklessly fast to me. The rest of the people in the pile up were wrecked too.

If he wasn’t going recklessly fast for the conditions he would have stopped in time.

I hate how many people have your attitude.

Well then they would have stopped completely and people would have plowed into the back of them. I hate stupid people who think that watching a 30 second video have it all figured out.

That is insane. Seattle is not flat at all.

10 Street NE by my house is BS icy, need AWD to get up it.

Hopefully they get the salt trucks out overnight

It's also by London which is snow squall country. If you've never lived there you can't appreciate how sudden, intense and localized they can be.

Still, that driver appeared to be driving way faster than the visibility would allow.

If you watch the trees beside the road in the video I disagree. Coming to a full stop, would definitely put people in danger you’re decapitating people who don’t know that you have stopped.

Not if… get this… people weren’t driving recklessly fast.

When you drive appropriately for conditions, you can avoid accidents in those conditions.

Hope you use your brain driving more than you do commenting on it.

Ya, but these conditions cause pile ups all the time, it’s sudden , like out of the blue. Ice rain turn highways and streets into skating rinks.
I find some of your posts kind of interesting but sometimes you seem kind of daft.

And there’s always more people who avoid these collisions than people caught in them. It’s not because they’re lucky.

I don’t really care about what you think about my posts or about you watching the trees. It’s pretty simple: if you plow into another vehicle, you were going too fast for conditions.

If conditions suddenly turn that bad, you slow down completely or pull over. How is this more controversial than “whoops nothing you can do but get into an accident in weather like this!” Honestly, come on.

Haha Pepsi glides through the ice storm pile up like a boss even though they never experienced one.

Just watched the dash cam video of the semi demolishing that suv. Yeah, that semi driver should lose his class 1 and never get it back. Going ridiculously fast for the conditions.
